I wish i were still a noobie, i really do, i would love to get that feeling i did, when i first came to rubi-ka all the new things i saw that baffled my mind, and made my imgination fly out of whack, the first time i went to entertainment, what i site it was! their was people trading and people everywhere! buying burgers(got a kick out of that) i remeber buying a bronto burger and thinking it was the coolest thing in the world...... but now all innocence lost, iam almost 150 and ive lost that feeling! almost sad really, i wish i never discovered twinking, pvp, and "uber loot". anyone like to share one of their noobie experinces? say their first trip to trade or something? or am i the only one that wishes this....

u had tons of ips per lvl, but now u can hardly up 2 skills.........

Yeah that time was great. Seeing things for the first time, leaveing a city was dangerous experience (so I explored all the time ) Not knowing whats coming next.

I remember how much aegean rocked, the junkyard was a blast, and the occasional goring from a virulent minibull left me begging for more

indeed, those were the days! but hey, at least bloodcreepers are still creepy!

I fell through a bridge in the Omni Sewers and ran around in there for half an hour.

Oh yeah...you guys rememebr the time WAY back when, when that Dust Brigade commando busted into the Reet's party? He was a level 400 greenie, and we had 40 people in the hall all fighting him off? I know everyone was really pissed at the time, but looking back, I think it was...well, pretty damn cool.
...Ok, I guess it might have sucked if yuo were Tarryk.

Edit: Well, except for the fact that I lost all my xp at 1k to level. That wasn't cool.

LOL Missmaul, I remember that all too well. Sucked at the time, but I do consider it a fond memory, really.

One of my coolest newbie experiences: Way back when, LONG before GridStream came around when Metalynx and I were just a couple gimps trying to learn the game, we were both around level 20 or 30 (I was a doc, and I think he was on a diff character, but still a fixer) and decided to take a road trip.

We went onto the longest road and head west-north-west, on the Great Quest For The Corner Of The World.

We wanted nothing more than to just hit the farthest northwest corner of the world, just to see what it was like.

There were MANY close calls with really bad-ass creatures, and along the way we even met a couple high level travellers that helped us by guiding us a short ways.

Eventually, we found it. Pitch black, dead of night, and there were little glowing mushrooms everywhere, as far as the eye could see. We were just running northwest through these massive glowing fields, and suddenly BOOM, north wall. We could only head west.

About 2 kilometers west, and BOOM, west wall. We couldn't see the walls, but they were there, and we could only see glowing fields of mushrooms in the pitch black night, stretching way off into the distance.

We sat down, lit up a couple cigarettes, and revelled in the moment. It was awesome.

Then we eventually decided to head back, and got our asses kicked by some disgustingly powerful aggro who came out of nowhere.

I remember my first party I went to, and Tarryk was DJing. This was before GSP I think, but not to far before its development. I heard there was a party one lone friday night in Newland City, so I wander into the back water club.

I meander through the "complex" finding the coat room and the bathrooms. I then find the dance room. I give the room the once over, and notice everyones in very fashionable duds, wheres as I was stylin with my kevlar vest, and camo pants and huge flippin' shotgun. I knew it was time to break out of the MDK throught process, and find me some dance clothes. ^_^

It was such a great party too.

haha, i remeber when tarryk went to babs, back in the belle rouge days, he had to DJ in the bath room cuz of all the lag, a ton of people were there, just partying in the bathroom, lol



Id say my best noobie experince, is when i got my very first yalm, like forever ago, Sterex bought it for me, and i was thrilled, i hoped in that thing and travelled EVERYWHERE my noobie legs couldnt take me, i remeber this one place i think north of Stret west, or west, not sure...
Anyways, i had flown some more and it started to get reallly dark, and i flew some more, and it started to get realllly foggy, and then out of the fog, came this MASSIVE cliff of jagged rocks, everywhere, i mean it looked like a place where, if you spoke it would turn into a echo, a place where everything had died, and all that was left was the fog, i could almost hear screams, comming out in the echos, as the wind blew, i remeber sitting on this one jagged rock, under me, bout a 600 dmg fall it was pretty high, i looked out into this massive dead field, with dead trees, it just had nothing, i rember feeling so alone, and at peace, i knew i was in the middle of no where away from all the hassles of the daily grind of Omni land and away from the daily grind of life... so i sat there for bout an hour listening to music and talking to people in tells, was an amazing sight, but thats when i knew, this "game" had a power over me, and wasnt going to let go any time soon....

i remember my first noob experience. i was a female nanomage MA totally bad choice but hey im a noob. anyway i started a nutral character and lvled her to about 10. at this point i wandered out of NLC and started heading north. well i so happen to run across another character that was around my lvl and new to rubi ka. so we thought we would team together and lvl. well due to our gimpness we could not find any mobs to kill. we thought we knew of a mob patch but we were wrong. we ended up saying screw it and we went exploring. we walked for about 5 hours real world. and finally we could no longer go any further we were at the tip of rubi ka were we proclaimed that the world was flat! he/she whiped out his/her boom box from his/her pack and placed it on the ground and we started dancing for a while. had a few more laughs and drinks. and then we both went our seperate ways. i never met that guy (or girl it was an atrox) again.

another fun story is my trip from Rome to Omni ent. this is a very long story so ill keep it short. if you ever wanted to know how long it would take you for a lvl 10+ opifex advent. to make it from rome to omni ent its about a whole day. this is including going the wrong way runnning far out of your path to avoid getting killed ect. and the sad point was i saw omni ent in the distance so i picked up the pace and started runnning and jumping right before i was bout to zone into the approach area.... i was killed!! so realy i never made it!

i was so pissed off and yet i was so happy that i took a trip that few if any at my lvl would dare to do. it made me want to play more and lvl more so i could beat up taht damn spider that killed me!

Ahh the old days...was it the countless times slaughtering Brontos at te oasis near Newland for body parts for Tarryk to convert to blood plasma? Or how bout the tiem I got my first Yalm....free....from a freind who found it in a mission (yes remember when they dropping in chests in a mission?)

I also seem to remember a time back in the dark ages where there was a amnesty between Clan and Omni...when I coudl travel a grerat distance...see some kewl cites..and not get shot by angry guards.... Exploring the wilderness with no map and no nifty skinmap that showed me where every cirty was was a blast. Wandering ito some odd looking village and trying to talk to Omni shopkeepers and guards.


Ahh the days.
