I can understand the 'burned out' thing... I have been rather close to it a couple of times myself, however it is GSP that keeps me pluggin' along.

If you need time off Palla, just let me know. :D

Oh, if i were to take time off at this moment, i doubt ya would get me back :)

Im gonna keep on with the ads and all...I may get back into the actual game soon, who knowss. Its just at the moment, it bores me, it feels like too much of the same over and over...mission mission mission mission...gah.

I can understand that totally, and it happens to everyone now and again. I've hit burnout stage on AO several times. It usually picks back up and I get back into it, though...eventually.

And yes, being with GSP is definitely the big thing that keeps me here. :)

im strange. i get burned out on one game, addiction for one other game picks up.

Ive bounced between AO, DAOC, EQ, NWN, Earth and Beyond, Icewind Dale 2...over the past month...

currently im into DAOC and IWD2...give it a couple weeks, itll shift again. Its about time for me to get readdicted to EQ, i think.

I finally kicked the EQ habit(NEVER going back), but... still had the computer addiction, then decided to try AO again. Damn.. addicted to another game. :(

You know, I have similar problems, myself.
I've gone back to EQ at least 3 times, DAOC twice, UO 4 or 5 times, AC about 3 times, AO twice, and Realm countless times.

*shrugs* Oh well.. AO seems to be hanging onto me this time.

same

i first got the game when it came out played for a month left until october of last year played for a month and left until december. played for a week and left until march. played until my father passed in july, and left for about 4 weeks or so, i only came back because of the friends i made in that short period of april to july and there great show of friendship, it really helped me get through the dark times. anyway in my absence i was playing one of the following: Sims, Civilization 3, Quake 3 Arena, Wolfinstine, RENEGADE!!!! (i really miss playing it) Arcanum, Morrowind, soldier of fortune 2, Medal Of Honer, and lastly Blade Runner.

when i did decide to return to AO the first thing i did was join Gridstream :) a lil side note that i thought you would like to know. oh and during all that time of on and off playing i never cancelled my subscription
:) oh wait it was terminated in december because the credit card expired. lol

Don't rule out a return.

I've been AO-free for almost a year, but i've got my life just about sorted to the point i can reactivate Praettor/Kismet/Nalissa again.

Should be a blast to see how the world has changed. Just hoping they haven't killed implant OE yet or i might return to all my implants popping out like an orville redenbaker nightmare.

Have to say though that one addiction i never kicked was listening to the show.

Still a listener..

I still jump in sometimes. I am far from ruling out a return, as one is inevitable.

I have odd MMORPG habits. Was EQ, but Verant pissed me off with a patch, which pushed me back to DAOC, which I am highly enjoying right now.

burnout...heh I know that..ive been riding the burnout Train for months now..and I think its finnally stopping...elsewhere

Ao had been great to me..but its entierly boring for me now. Too many clicks in the game ...too many peoepl who take it too seriously or like to greif others...worse than it was waaaaay back when whan I was in school. Rampant stupidity....Torpid storyline, too much emphasis on PVP (hell every nerf is becasue of some damn PVP bug).

Boredom hath set in. Metalynx is not long for this world.....

Well I haven't been in game much lately. Guess I've reached the burnout stage as well. But I'm not leaving entirely. I've just put AO on the back burner so to speak and have been playing other games. Went back to EQ and found that they've changed a lot in that game. New GUI, new things wandering around etc. So I've been playing that, Neverwinter Nights and even Tomb Raider 4 which I never got around to finishing before (the new Tomb Raider game is coming out soon and it's suppose to be completely different)

Unless they've made some drastic changes with DAoC, I'm never going back to that game. It bored me within a month. I probably will check out AC2 and EQ2.

*pause*... I started with EQ. Friend got me addicted while on a vacation to see them. I loved the game, and I'm going to go back to it... eventually. But Verant keeps screwing up repeatedly. They're pretty good at ticking most people off. Worse, is when you -don't buy the expansion- but somehow, the first patch after the expansion's release manages to screw up your system so that the game completely locks up the computer everytime you engage in combat. :x And I -did- make the only update that they -said- was necessary for everyone - including people who didn't buy the expansion, but otherwise it wasn't supposed to effect those who didn't buy it (the upgrade was a DX upgrade. *shrug*).

I like AO. And the game doesn't make my pc go crazy even though I think it's graphics are considerably superior to EQ's old graphics (even their new "Shadows of Luclin" models. The pics I've seen weren't that great... bad skin texture). I can't completely see the jumping between games things when you burn out... I normally just stop playing for a week or so and work on html coding, role-play elsewhere with friends or try a new Dreamcast game, or something. The only thing that really made me burn out on EQ was being unable to play half of my characters I liked since combat made everything lock up. Ah well...

I'd say don't completely give up on the game, even if you're just bored. The new expansion's supposed to be out soon, isn't it? Could always explore what new stuff comes with it. :) While you wait just take a small break from the game and enjoy other things in life. You've gotta have some other hobbies.
