Sometimes life likes to throw a curve ball that takes a bit more than a catcher’s mitt to sort out. Between my puter saga, life picking up pace a bit and the time I’ve had to think it’s been an interesting ride. All that aside, I’ve come to a long and gut wrenching choice to leave GSP.
Joining GSP was never just about the music for me. It was the people, the creativity… the entire “feel†of GSP and the DJs and listeners who dedicated their time to it. GSP is, and was always intended to be, a living breathing entity to change and grow and keep pace with its listeners. But I believe it has grown and molded beyond what I can keep up with and the people I originally joined to be a part of have long since moved on from this wonderful organization. In short, I just can’t keep up with it. Which in essence, is probably good for GSP. New management, new structure, new faces… even new music genres. The times are a changin’ and I’ve found myself just clinging on to a lifeline and wondering where everyone is and why it all looks so different.
This is actually one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made. My stomach has been twisted in knots and I’ve consulted every friend and family member I could get in touch with to be absolutely sure I wasn’t just being overly-flakey or irrational. I’ll always have a warm and fuzzy place in my heart for GSP, its patrons, DJs and other assorted volunteers and silly-heads. I’ll be around hovering here and there and you better believe I’ll be coming to check out the new engine “whenever†it gets released, which obviously will include attending some parties with GSP and the new spiffy look of things. For now I’m going to put my focus, creative energy and dedication on life for a while and see where it takes me.
