It's true :( sadly the last few of work on the app has been in vain :(

stress tests showed that the workload would be to much for any of the phones :( will save the work and hope for better phones later but for the moment it is on ice.

Novagen developed Anarchytalk maybe you guys can work together for a GSP app.

Try dropping him a PM on the AOU forums.

nothing wrong with coding, it's the memory and Processing unit in the phones that can't handle that much at once.

that's a pity. I'd like to see an iOS capable app for GSP.

I see that there are other radio station apps in the store that have live chat and streaming audio though, so it must be possible somehow? I'm not a programmer though, so I have absolutely no idea how difficult this is.

the thing is i added several extra features like location list of regular shows and a cords based chat. and used my laptop with AO map files on it as a server for the cord based chat. but seems it was to much for both my iPhone 4G and my friends galaxy phone with android

The weird thing is that I use a galaxy, and I can run anarchytalk and stream gsp on ARadio simultaneously, I do that all the time. Bit of a battery drain, but it's relatively flawless.

yes that alone would work but how will a person that is not a member of Gridbot be able to chat if there is a party in PW? and you need to have cords to talk in vicinity? that is what made the whole darn thing to hard for it for some strange reason

Ok, not a coder mind you so... here is a thought.

If all the features of the app requires too much phone ram/cpu, why not make them 2 separate apps that require less power?

Like GSP App - GSP Show Schedule (access to GSP Calendar pretty much), and GSP App - GSP Live Chat (access to ingame gridbot chat).

You can chat in the form of sending tells to gridbot with the word say...but I imagine you will only see responses if they send you a reply via a tell.

with the bionic and atrix coming out and the newly released thunderbolt, this may not be a problem. there are also other things like the ipad or the tab
