Ok, I've been having tons of AO ideas all over the place, some for AO itself, some AOU related, some org related and guess what? I also thought about you guys!

Back in the old days of radio (before television, cable and satellite dishes) there was such a thing as serials.

So I thought... wouldn't it be cool to listen to an AO Serial on GSP? Episodes could be between 5-15 mins, one-shot or part of a limited series. Special effects... provided by AO itself. If I remember correctly all sound effects are in the wave format which could be easily used. GSP has a vast experience to audio editing. You guys also have a wide range of great voices, but I think if you needed more... all you would need to do is ask publicly and a few players would offer their voices.

Word is that Oliewabie has returned, maybe he could help in the writing of this project, but again.. if you ask publicly I think people would offer assistance on this project.

If I remember correctly the Epicine episodes where pure comedy. Maybe a more serious approach with a small hint of comedy would be a good way to create a great story.

Another idea I had was... remix the AO Soundtrack. Like I said before, you guys are great at audio editing. Why not remix the old music to make it a bit more fresh?

I hope you consider my suggestions.

Definitely considered, sir, and we thank you for the feedback! These are definitely both projects that have been considered in the past, and are not completely out of the question. We're at the tail end of yet another org restructuring, but it's wrapping up very nicely and I think pre-recording projects are going to boom significantly in the near future. These two ideas (serial stories and remixes) are likely to be front-burner projects.

Does GSP have a Youtube channel? Because videos of events, parties and shows would be a nice promotional tool for not just GSP but AO itself.

I think that's an awesome idea, just not sure how we could coordinate recording the in-game video with the audio at the same time. My AO window is teeny tiny and messy, and often displays some truly nasty conversations in various chat windows. lol

But it's definitely a great idea to brainstorm, I'll chew on that one

Well, that is moderately easy to do, someone just need to be a dedicated camera guy and use FRAPS or similar (and keeping ingame soundeffects (but music off) would be advised as the sound effects would "taint" the music from the radio stream so it's not a clean recording and thus "should" be ok to post in full on youtube. add some creative editing to that and there should be no issues)

Another idea, sort of a related to youtube.

Aren't a few of you guys musicians? (or maybe you know a few).

Creating an AO inspired song would be a unique first. The idea came about when I was watching this week's Naruto Shippuden and realized how important the theme song (which changes every season) was as a viewer.

I remember the old days when I would hear the original AO soundtrack and visually saw myself on Rubi-Ka.

Now I'm no artist, but I think I may have a basic concept.

The song could start with a classical music sound, move on to a ballad and then end with a rock beat.

As for the lyrics, I'm no good at rhyming but the song maybe could be about how both clanner and omni males feel they are fighting for the right thing from their own points of view, and maybe a female neutral feels stuck in a war she wants no part of.

If you guys managed to get the song done, the next step could be a music video with in-game footage.

I remember that video, it was awesome. Still, the song was not really based on AO, but the visuals are great clips from the mini series.

With the 10th Anniversary coming up, why not ask FC to provide 10 lifetime account upgrades which you can give away at the official party in Reets in June?

I don't think there is a need, as I suspect FC/GMs/ARKs will have a shit-ton of cool stuff happening or being given out both via AO forums, mail/newsletter, website, ingame, at parties (which GSP most likely well be at or involved with in some way, and bunch of "at location" contests from everyone as well as on-air contents.).
In any case it's gonna be kinda nuts I think.
I'm also guessing at plenty of new AO GFX engine teasers around that time too.
