Not sure if this is appropriate or not, but I am at the end of my rope. As most of you know, or know now ;p, I am back after a brief, brief=few years, absence. At the time I left I was part of a great guild which now is mostly playing on EVE. Anyway to shorten this story a bit I recently started a new character a soldier. Even though I am almost lvl 15 I am still running around with the beginning newb weapon. Basically all the research I have done online has yielding conflicting suggestions of various unattainable, for me, assault weapons or smg/pistol combos, which I am cool with duel-wielding pistols but smg is not a green skill.
Last night I had finally tracked down someone that offered to take me to some place called the steppes of madness to hook me up with a solider/assault rifle weapon but soon bailed as my low level proved too problematic for him to deal with. Anyway...I am at the end of my rope and am looking for some advice from any soldiers out there. I would like to stick with Assault but after spending numerous hours searching have not found anything much better than what I have. Anyway, sorry for the length of the post and if this is not the place to post such things and I thank everyone in advance in case there is any advice forth coming. Thank You!!

AO-Universe has a good guide for soldier profession. Not quite up-to-date but it should get you started.
You didn't say if your froob or paying player, but soldier is pretty easy to play either way.

I don't have much of an idea about soldier but if you need help getting something catch us some time when I'm not DJing and I can run you out to somewhere. Got my 194 MA on rk1

That would be wicked cool. I was hoping to get the Neutrino Flash from the Steppes of Madness (says lvl 50 to solo) and the Hellspinner Shock Cannon from the cyborg dungeon (says 150 for it to be easy). So if you could help out with either of those that would be cool and if so, is Shigy the character I should catch you on?
