Well the little sound thing negs posted the other day is a good time waster...but being noisy may not be the best thing for wasting time at work...You could always read bash.org if you haven't before...do a little dance?

I often read webcomics when work requires me to sit and wait and just keep an eye on something and wait for it to go wrong. Most of them only update a few times a week, so I have a long list of sites to check for new pages, but I'll just list a few favorites here.

Girl Genius - A female geek in a vaguely Earth-like steampunk / gaslamp world full of monsters, robots, and mad scientists. Good mix of comedy and drama.

MegaTokyo - Two hardcore American gamers get stuck in Tokyo with no money, where they have to deal with ninjas, giant lizards, androids, the undead, and even schoolgirls, some of whom may be magical. May be a little heavy on the drama for some readers.

Looking For Group - Takes place in a fantasy game world, with a horribly, hilariously mismatched group. A little drama here and there, mostly dark humor.

Ctrl-Alt-Del - Gamers and their friends, some of whom may even be sane, for a given definition of reality. Mostly comedy with occasional bursts of drama. Oh yeah, robot.

Least I Could Do - No video games here and only occasional fantasies about sci-fi, fantasy, or games. It's just this guy named Rayne, being a guy, and refreshingly, sometimes disturbingly, honest about it. Updates every day!

8 Bit Theater - Low-rez comedy of a motley crew of hyperexaggerated archetypes in a fantasy world. Much absurdity, very little drama. Very few robots.

As of lately other then reading my comics and doing my twitter thing I've been writing adult-swimish blurbs and putting them in my cubicle. I try to make them semi-work related such as:

E=mc²: A 5-Character Physics formula that when expressed in text simply translates to “energy equals mass multiplied by the speed of light squared,” proposed in 1905 by Albert Einstein. This formula is also known as mass–energy equivalence which is the concept that states that the mass of a body is a measure of its energy content. The formula implies that any small amount of matter contains a very large amount of energy. Some of this energy may be released as heat and light by nuclear transformations which has potential to explode at, but not exceeding, the speed of light.

I WTB more Girl Genius, too. At least it is still updating regularly. A lot of webcomics are short lived. I don't know any others that fit that category that are still updating. Google might be your friend there.

Metrophor was a decent "thaumapunk" webcomic, sort of a combination steampunk/fantasy setting. It's not exactly over, but it's on "extended haitus" due to carpal tunnel syndrome. They hope to finish it, with someone else's hands if necessary, someday.
