Rk1 is our home, it's where most of our djs come from, and for every time someone asks for more rk2 shows, I have months of examples of djs doing shows there with next to zero listener interaction. As it stands, we will continue to do shows on both dims, but I wouldn't count on the ratio changing much in the future.

Some djs, I should add, do tend towards rk2, and some are even between them, but the ratio on all djs together do still lean a bit towards rk1.

to me it seems like it has to be a special event befor any dj realy wanna go rk 2, atleast sami had the idea of doing 1 show on rk 1 one week then rk 2 the next week. and on her shows there were never under 10 who showed up

Some DJ's DO alternate shows on the different Dims. Some of us are just more comfortable on one dim over the other. But past expierience has been that shows on RK2 tend to be much smaller than RK1. This is not always the case, but it is usually how it goes. It really is not that big of a deal, make an alt, check out a new Dim, just please do not complain about how we do the splitting of shows.

That's one way of looking at it, I suppose. Then again, you could apply the same logic and say that with the same theoretical number of listeners on either dim, and twice as many or more showing up to interact during rk1 shows, that we are less important to those on rk2.

Personally, however, I don't believe the logic holds in either case. It is a matter of convenience and origin. We were born on rk1, it is where our city is, it is where the roots of our fan base comes from, and it's where we get the most interaction.

This is why we tend to ration rk1 shows more often. We are not turning our nose up to rk2 at all, and the fact that we exist and do shows there at all is a testament to the fact that we wish to equalize our general respect for both primary dims.

Since we are under no financial or political obligation to do anything, I think we are being more than fair in simply letting our individual dj's decide where they are going to broadcast from each show, instead of dictating to them where they will stand and when. If more active dj's eventually arise that tend towards rk2, that's great, but GSP as a whole is not giving some sort of pompous preferential treatment to either one at the expense of the other, nor do we intend to start. Each dj makes their own decisions, and we currently lean towards rk1 by a simple ratio of origin.

As said before, some do lean towards rk2, such as dynamiks, who will hopefully be back from hiatus soon. We definitely support the dj's decisions either way.

Tarryk covered many important points already.

I'll just chime in too, as a DJ!, and add that I have DJ'd some amazing events on RK2. Not just ARK ones, mind you. So I do have a love for the RK2 crowd. I know you guys can party. I've seen it first hand! DJ Ashval regularly holds his show on RK2.

But, as stated, a big issue is a DJ making an effort to show up on RK2 but not many people actually stop by. It depends on more than just listener ratio RK1:RK2. It depends on the DJ's time slot too. Lots of factors are an issue. Me, I enjoy hopping on RK2, but I am kinda bummed when 95% of the crowd there ends up being RK1 players switching DIMs. :P

In the end, RK2 will always have GSP's attention, so don't think we value one over the other. As tK said, we were born on RK1 and it's just a bit more familiar.

I just want to add to this from a little different perspective.

I was born on rk1. I made my first rk2 alt because of GSP (while I was still in the Unity of the Rose I might add). A lot of other people I know did as well. It seems to me that since GSP took their first steps over on RK2 there has been little to no push back from RK1 folks about making an alt to come to RK2 to join the party. However, there seems to be a ton of push back from RK2 folks about going in the opposite direction (with a few notable exceptions).

While GSP has gotten more and more active on RK2 over the past few years, I couldn't tell you the number of shows I've been to on that DIM that were almost entirely populated by RK1 alts. Many times this has been when a DJ has been begged to have a show on that DIM and then no one (oftentimes even the person who begged for it) shows up. So I can see where some DJ's wouldn't feel too warm and fuzzy about going to RK2 as often as you might like.

As has been stated here though, GSP has a number of DJ's who alternate their shows between the 2 dims. So really, RK2 does get love.

It could be worse, there could be 100s of servers like on WoW with the most popular station only being on 1 of them. I play on both RK1 and RK2, and I use RK2 as my excuse to NOT goto GSP and to actually level. But meh, I can level when I'm dead I suppose!

First up I have to say I enjoy a small crowd usually more than a big one (big being like 20+ people). Although I always take it as a good thing if lots of people show up.
However going over to rk2 and having 3 people show up who are there purely because I am and would be there on any dimension doesn't make me to inclined to go to rk2. I tried the switching back and fourth every week. It doesn't do it for me.
I'm sorry if your from rk2 but with the exception of events or following on from a rk2 show I don't really have any desire to be there.

I switch every week and have for some time. I have good crowds at RK2 shows for my show...but when I have been to other DJs shows I notice alot of the people are RK1 transplants. I know that we have had issues of RK2 people saying "You guys never come here" but I know we do. Like it has been said...alot of times even when I come to RK2 I find myself begging the RK2 people to show up and show the luv and let us know you want us there by coming to shows when we do show up. Best thing you folks on RK2 can do is show that you want us by coming to shows when we have them there and I will bet if you do, even some of the DJs that do less there will start to come more often.

I have played on both servers and I have got to have my say.

Before I was a GSP Dancer and fan of GSP, I was only a fan. I made alts to follow GSP because I was a fan. GSP is doing us, their fans, a service. Who are we to tell them where to have their parties? They are DJing out of love for music, love for the game, and love for us.

The more greifing the less fun it is. Kick back, make an alt, enjoy the show. Really, sometimes its rare to see a high level person there at all with all of us lowbies bumping and grinding.

I switch off each week for my shows simply because I choose to. So long as I'm Director of GSP, I'll let each individual DJ choose where they want to do their shows. They're the ones putting in their free time, and they should be free to decide where they want to DJ from.

As a DJ who chooses to alternate evenly, I can definitely say that the RK2 population is dwarfed by RK1 folks on alts at my shows.
I may be retired, but I'm GridStream for life.

I just think, for someone to demand more time spent on any dimension and make generally false claims about GSP is pretty much bad form from anyone calling themselves a fan.

GSP DJs do not get paid. They spend their free time DJing. They do some pretty spectacular things, our DJs. I've heard them DJ while sick and barely able to talk. Some go late into their night and when begged for more, took a break and came back with a ninja set. Some seem to never sleep at all but are cybornetically connected to GSP at all times..... Others only ever break from their shows when pain is just too much to bear, and yet I still have heard them DJ from the floor.

GSP DJs earn tons of respect from me and I can't help but get a bit defensive when anyone gives them grief. I love my GSP DJs. I'll go anywhere for a party.

Okay, maybe I am a little sharp with my point. I can see where he is coming from but the way he made his statements put me on instant defense. It would be great to see more people on RK2 show up to shows and I think that maybe we could figure out how to increase the fanbase there, I'm just not really sure how to do that.

I'm gonna say something and it's my own opinion not a gsp dancer one. This post is probably only made for a dj's response but I'm going to say what I want anyway cause I feel like that.

Some dj's make both shows each week switching on rk1 to rk2. Some others doesn't and they have their own reasons not especialy mine.

I don't go often on rk2, my reasons? => there is not a show without complains, complain about "your music sucks" and that in front of everyone else on vicinity to reduce dj's even more, complain about the fact gsp is NEVER there (funny enough they say it even WHEN Gsp is on rk2 instead of enjoying the opportunity) and bad stuff happening like a bunch of kids spamming the hell on vicinity or stepping on your dance spot doing repetitively a ton of hump emotes just to piss you off and ruining anything possible.

I'm not sorry to say I hate being in a place where most of people I helped don't even said me a simple thanks. But though I make efforts to go there at times and I NEVER complained to dj's like "oh please don't make your show there stay on rk1 I so hate that place" they do what they want to do, you follow or you don't but no need to complain for that.

You feel bad that Gsp is more on rk1? You make an alt, you enjoy the show you are at (or you don't, at choice) but stop complaining, that could be great and change for once. Thank you.

I also do my best to switch between rk1 and rk2 every week. But rk2 shows are usually the same, a bunch of rk1 alts and a few rk2 people and the few that do show up act like a$$hats. I've had a few good experiences on rk2, but because of the bad ones I am always worried about doing a show on rk2 and not able to keep my cool or let it bother me. So its not like rk2 doesn't have shows at all.
