We need a Request Section.

Seriously though, I was wondering if any of the DJs had any of the songs from Repo: The Genetic Opera laying around in their databases. The main three songs I'm looking for are Chase The Morning, Zydrate Anatomy and Legal Assassin. I wanted to try and get Ashval to play it but he doesn't have them.

Most DJ's have request sections in their individual forums, but you'd need to have an idea what DJ would be most likely to play that sorta stuff. If I had to guess, I'd say your best shots might be Lykeios, Synnthetik or Klinical...maybe Ickk.

Yeah but I'm trying to refrain from being a post count addict.... For now. >.>

I have exactly what you want... I just need to finish renaming songs because when I ripped the CD, the program misnamed the files for whatever reason. I have some fixed already and I actually opened my set last Sunday to Zydrate Anatomy.

See Ash, I can bother multiple DJs without posting in multiple forums. Also, now you two know what I want to hear without me requesting it. >.>

I don't get to either Synn's or Lykes shows often enough to know their preferences. However for the most part the DJ's have more to do than to keep tabs on each listeners specific preferences. Thus you probably still have to request what you want. Point being that they may recall, but its a bit unrealistic to expect that they always will.

If Synn forgets, I'll get him in trouble. *Snickers* I love you Synn!
Lyk is totally allowed to forget because the Drawer Wolf taunts him to play more crazy music.

Probably not entirely related to the initial request of the forum.... But there are GSP rules in place that say you can't take direct real-time requests from anywhere other than Gridbot... So a requests forum wouldn't serve a whole lot of purpose me thinks
Course this is me randomly posting junk while at work... so like I said, it may not be relevant

Jairyn is correct here, mostly.
We can each have request forums in as far as taking suggestions for music to add to our playlists, that's fine.
But we (Internet radio in general) are still under the DMCA laws. We cannot take "real time" requests through anything but gridbot (or vicinity/tells), inside AO. That means no forums, email, voice chat, instant messengers, etc can be used as a public request-on-demand medium.
(just confirming the point, since I too don't think anyone was really heading that direction in this thread, hehe)

Well, I generally have like five or six DJs I listen to and sometimes would like a bunch of them to add songs to their playlists. So I'd feel bad for making six posts in six different sections of the forums regarding like ten songs.

This came across as rather snotty. I assume you didn't mean it that way.

That's not what Ash was getting you to do, you know. He was simply responding to your comment on the need for a request section. Most folks already know the genres the DJ's play and request it in their forum. However there's nothing wrong with a general question here to see who might respond. We just don't get these enough to warrant a forum for it.

Ah, wasn't meant that way Kira. I was being sarcastic. I'd been giving Ash a hard time during his show and then we started posting during it. I have a weird sense of humor. I'll work on that.
