so just a thread on what kind of themed events you can think of, for fun.
and hopefully someone might see it and request it!

here's one I came up with on Shigy's show yesterday:
n00b party! everyone attending must be in n00b outfit (not equiping any armour)

Sneak Party.

Everyone is in sneak mode. you can still dance, etc..but depending on the perception of the DJ and other people, you could be there alone.

The whole Cream Rose thing tonight gave me an idea.

Fashion Show

Pick out a few outfits, some male and some female, and buy/quest two or three of each before the event (plus one if none of the models already has it). Find a venue with a suitable catwalk for the show. Have the Dancers (and maybe some of the DJs) model the outfits one at a time, then line up and dance while the matching outfits are given away in gridbot contests, so everyone can see all their options when they're deciding which ones to try for.

Yeah, I can't think of any good fashion runways in accessible places, but I'm sure we could do without if there's enough interest in doing it at all. Rome has catwalks between buildings, but they're too high, and they're in Rome, not a very Clan-friendly area.

The back of a couch or the top of a bar would do, as long as it has decent lighting, so we can get a good look at the outfits. Newland is neutral and has a bar and tables and canopies right outside Neuters 'R' Us that would work. The lighting there isn't too bad. ICC has that platform with the statue, which is a bit high but does have adequate lighting. That would be appropriate, as that was where this whole thing started with your Cream Rose, Brat.

Depending on the turnout you're expecting and how much you're willing to spend on this, you could even give everyone who comes to the party a free Miiir outfit of their choice. That might require a sizable donation, though. That Miiir adds up really fast. There's a Miiir shop right there in Newland to grab more from, and that's only one Whomp away from ICC. Then you could save the contests for harder to get outfits. Maybe get some Omni Med Suits, too, to bring in those who need some actual function with their fashion. (And they're cheaper!)

I'd be willing to donate a couple mil to see this happen. Why not? I got it all from GSP in the first place.

Not to burst any bubbles, as it's a great idea that can surely be done again and maybe even done better...but, we've done a ton of fashion shows like these over the years.

And I managed to miss them all? I guess that's what I get for only playing at Halloween and Christmas. I'll just have to try to catch the next one and listen in more even when I'm off exploring other games.

Slightly innaccessible but:

True the yalm and even paid points doesnt make this very interesting but its something that keeps coming to mind when I see a bunch of people hovering over a PF to watch the action or organize. Makes me think of old cruising days where people would congregate in their cars and listen to music.

And yeah, Yalm's dont dance. ...

(Not a practical idea per se, but its an idea ...)

maybe a PvP party where people duel each other for prizes, and just to make it fair, only people in a certain level range can join, and there will be prizes appropriate for that level range

Well, I have been in and done many a fashion show and ppl auction, I think perhaps a new type of auction would be better attended but it would require Higher levels to donate or to make up some back packs with some very much sought after items in them. things that diferent levels need but may find it a bit hard to get or time consumeing...twinking items maybe some Advi only Ma only Trader only but always with an item that is one a lot of folks would love to have.. I think the money rasied should be donated to GSP because they honestly do a lot of the work at theese functions keeping track and also letting folks know just what is going on and when ... so this is just one sugestion

Jugsy, I think that's a great idea especially for the different professions and yes the money should go to GSP... without them where would we be???

Other games. I do like AO, but there are so many other games I haven't tried that I wouldn't keep coming back if it wasn't for GSP.

I like that idea! And I haven't seen a Jobe Lux yet. Unfortunately, my SL account is unpaid and only active when FC annually tries to tempt me back. I'd probably have to miss this one, but I still think it's a good idea.
