Oh I totally effing called it!!

As the title says I totally effing called it with my playlist title a week ago, but I bet no one watched the game. Vanderbilt just moved to 5-0, 3-0 in the SEC (South Eastern Conference). First time they won a game as a ranked team in like 40 years, first time they have beat Auburn in 53 years (only played them 13 times since then though, and the all time series is dead even at 20-20-1), and the first time they have beaten 3 SEC teams in 26 years. That team (the 82 team) went on to a winning season and a bowl game (though they lost) and that was the last team to ever do so. Hell, to add to the fun, Vanderbilt holds a 1 game lead in the SEC Eastern Division (and if Florida loses to LSU and Vanderbilt beats Miss. St. this week a 2 game lead).

I know this is going over everyone's head, but I just had to gloat over Vanderbilt's victory over Auburn in front of a national audience and being the first time ESPN's College Gameday has ever come to Nashville.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I also have to gloat that UT (Tennessee) is dead last in the SEC East at 0-2 and is 2-3 overall.

I watched the game Ivan :P They did the same thing as the last game I watched, where I was scared they were gonna lose but then they pulled through in the end.

They have come from behind in every single game...though Miami (OH) they only trailed by 3 for a total of 5 mins. Vanderbilt has outscored their opponents 58-10 in the second half giving up only a field goal to Miami (OH) in the 3rd quarter and a TD to South Carolina in the 4th quarter. Their last three opponents have been shut out in the second half.

Considering the trend, I have no idea how I am going to handle an early Vanderbilt lead.

Grats on beating a team that won a game 3-2. ;) Vandy's offense needs to get drastically better if they want to win the SEC, however... they've snuck through with some wins that normally don't happen. I'm a sucker for an underdog, though, so I'm definitely rooting for them. And Northwestern in the Big 10, too.

Mizzou's offense looks great but they'll lose to Oklahoma, whose offense is just as good but also plays good defense. Texas might even have a chance to beat them. Hard to say about Texas, though, because they haven't played ANYONE yet this year. At least Missouri played Illinois earlier this year, OU and Texas have played some awful teams.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame, my alma mater, will cruise through to an 8-4 or 7-5 record and nobody will have any idea how good they are because the schedule is that terrible this year. Last year, we had 3 or 4 really tough games at the start of the year and it utterly demoralized an extremely young team... this year they're a lot better but it's hard to say how much better with so many bad teams on the schedule.

Is it kind of sad that I know we're coming up on Veldron and Kira's wedding anniversary because the UT-OU game is this weekend? :D
