Left Hander's Day

Today is International Left-handers Day. The day when us "south-paws" celebrate our Right to be left-handed.

Who else here is left-handed?
Did you know that both John McCain and Barack Obama are left-handed? In January the U.S. will have the 4th left-handed president since 1974. Ford, Bush Sr. and Clinton are the other three. Some think that Reagan was a lefty but was forced to change early in life. Until recent decades, parents and teachers routinely "corrected" children who showed signs of a dominant left hand.
The word "sinistrality," denoting left-handedness, evokes its linguistic cousin "sinister."
Famous left-handed people.

What left-handers do better then right-handers.
Everything
In his book Right-Hand, Left-Hand, Chris McManus of University College London argues that the proportion of left-handers is rising and left-handed people as a group have historically produced an above-average quota of high achievers. He says that left-handers' brains are structured differently in a way that widens their range of abilities, and the genes that determine left-handedness also govern development of the language centers of the brain.
Happy Left-Hander's Day to all the lefties.
