Did you know that both John McCain and Barack Obama are left-handed? In January the U.S. will have the 4th left-handed president since 1974. Ford, Bush Sr. and Clinton are the other three. Some think that Reagan was a lefty but was forced to change early in life. Until recent decades, parents and teachers routinely "corrected" children who showed signs of a dominant left hand.

The word "sinistrality," denoting left-handedness, evokes its linguistic cousin "sinister."

In his book Right-Hand, Left-Hand, Chris McManus of University College London argues that the proportion of left-handers is rising and left-handed people as a group have historically produced an above-average quota of high achievers. He says that left-handers' brains are structured differently in a way that widens their range of abilities, and the genes that determine left-handedness also govern development of the language centers of the brain.

It's funny a bit cause anyone even myself can't say I'm left or right handed...

To eat, I have my knife in left hand and my fork in right hand. => left handed
To eat with chopsticks => right-handed
I smoke my cigarettes with left as much than right hand... => both
Shaving => right handed
My computer mouse => right handed
When I become angry and start to punch anything, usualy left handed... but that depend => both
Writing, maybe most representative for ppl => right handed
When I'm busy at keyboard and I have to type (you perverts :p, I mean eat or drink or even caress my dog) => left handed

it's just a few exemples... but I can't say I'm totaly right-handed every time and not left-handed either. I think I'm more right-handed for a lot of things but I still use my left hand than usualy ppl don't use for some stuff except if they are left-handed.

It's not that you never use your other hand, it's that most skills/tasks/actions are performed with one hand. That's why you're left-hand or right-hand dominant.

I too am left handed, but I do some things mainly right handed, like use a mouse, swing a bat, shoot, and punch hehehe.

I used to freak out my teachers by switching which hand I wrote with. Sometimes my art teacher would swear I was left handed because I'd grab the lefty scissors, or paint with my left hand. As I got older, I had to pick a hand, and since the world is geared mostly to right-handers....well....I went that way. My left hand is a little out of practice but if I wanted to I could switch back just to be different. Have been thinking about it just to see what my boss would say when she's watching me trim a wig left handed....

Stiofain was a lefty, but they forced him to switch over when he was young. Caoilinn's showing a preferrence for her left side (hand/leg), too. Yay, left-handed-ness!

I tend to do things with whatever hand is more convienent. If I'm using a techgun or something like that I'll put it in whatever hand is closer. However I do have my computer setup up right handed.
