Signs of Spring

I was talking with my parents the other day, about the signs of spring. Seems like everyone has their own sign as to how you know spring is here or just around the corner.

The age old one is the presence of the first robin.

For me, living in Maine...we get sooo much snow, that when I can start to see the dead grass on the sides of the road...I know spring is near. We are used to 6-10ft banks lining the roads, sometimes more. So seeing the snow melted enough that the dead grass starts sticking out on the edges a bit, is a big thing for me.

So what is it for you? What do you look for as your sign spring is here?

The Tuna start biting out on the far side of "The Peak" (a well known reef near where I live)

But that doesn't happen for 6 months or so :P

Its Autumn here, and I love this time of year!

In Belgium, except some rare days in summer, you can't make any difference between the season, it's always cold and/or raining
The snow can be seen in november as much as in april some years...

.... and the rain.... every days can be a rainy day.

On that one, welcome to my land ! :P

Also willow catkins, although this year the things showed up in January, thanks to global wamring.

I have to go with the birds waking me up around 5 every morning. And ants on the attack, popping up everywhere you don't want them to in your home (or any other building, public or otherwise, for that matter).

umm, for me it's when it gets above 70. This year was like last year, some very cold days with a majority of warm/chilly days. I'll know when it's spring when it hits 80 degrees.
