If you have suggestions, reply with your suggestions and I'll update this post.

Rules are simple, the movie/series/cartoons must have been released or originally aired during the 80's. (it's ok if a series started in the 70's and continued into the 80's or if they started in the 80's and continued into the 90's.)

For the movies section Back To The Future trilogy (Yeah I know the third one was 1990 but meh)
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Movies: agreed with Breakfast Club and Back to the Future.

I'd also add pretty much anything John Cusack or Molly Ringwald to that list. (Better of Dead, One Crazy Summer, Pretty in Pink, and Sixteen Candles). Oh and absolutely must have Red Dawn and Dirty Dancing.

TV Series:

Family Ties
Wonder Years
Cheers

Cartoons

Thundercats!!!

I can't think of any others 80's cartoons that I really used to watch. I more or less fell out of cartoons with the exception of the old classics. Except I'm not sure when Ren and Stimpy or Pinky and the Brain came out. I was a big fan of those as well.

TV: Red Dwarf, Dr Who (both still active in the 80's), ALF

Movies: Goonies, TRON, D.A.R.Y.L, Cloak and Dagger, Flight of the Navigator, WarGames, Short Circut (series), Evil Dead (series) and I'll put this here cause it's more of a movie set than a TV show.. Mystery Science Theather 3000.

That's off the top of my head, I'm sure I'll think more up later.

So many movies not on that list!

ET, Bladerunner, This is Spinal Tap, The Terminator, The Princess Bride, Mad Max 2 (aka The Road Warrior), Das Boot, Empire Strikes Back, Aliens (unfortunately Alien was 1979).. I could go on and on... Raging Bull, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Amadeus....okay enough.. maybe its because the 80's was my favourite decade :)

Oh, and if anyone lists Return of the Jedi, I'll hunt you down with a tyre iron... The only thing worse than those teddy bear ewoks was Jaja...

ET
I added it after fixaboo posted actually.

Those are there actually due to the rule: Rules are simple, the movie/series/cartoons must have been released or originally aired during the 80's. (it's ok if a series started in the 70's and continued into the 80's or if they started in the 80's and continued into the 90's.) So the classic Star Wars Trilogy and the Alien Quadrilogy (sorry A4 haters) as well. Only reason the Star Wars prequels are not listed is due to them being separate from the classic trilogy. (not a continuation)

*indirect cough*

Personally I love the era from 75'ish to 95'ish.

Cities of Gold
Ulysses 31
Battle of the Planets
Dangermouse!
(All cartoons...)

(And always remember, when they first appeared the Ewoks were cannibalistic little bastards who were planning to spit roast Han Solo for supper... they'd make fishsticks out of Jaja before he could even blink those stupid googly eyes!)
