I just found out about this too!! Holy spaceballs! Hmmm I just hope they finished making the batman movie. If not, they will have to find a new Joker and I don't think they are going to find a better one. He spent months getting into that role.

This was all a-buzz at the imaging center this morning, but we didn't know who they were talking about. It was just "that guy from Brokeback Mountain." Wowsers.

Yeah I heard this a little earlier too. My reaction was pretty much the same as all of the above.

Kash...IMDB has The Dark Knight listed as "post production" so I assume that means that he's done shooting. However, it also means they won't be able to go back and re-shoot anything which needs to be changed/cleaned-up.

It's funny you know, I finally got around to seeing Batman Begins the other night and it really made me curious about this next movie.

The latest news states that it was an overdose of prescription sleeping pills, not street drugs, not much better I'll admit, but *shrugs*

The latest that I've read does not indicate whether or not this was an accidental overdose or a suicide attempt. Although I personally fail to see how an accidental overdose is possible without someone else being involved, which would make it murder.

As for The Dark Knight, at least two of the articles I've read on this, have indicated that this will be his final finished performance.

Dark Knight filming has been completed and is just in the editing stage. I actually have a friend of a friend of a friend of Christopher Nolan, and he confirmed the shooting phase has been wrapped up for 6 months. He said that Nolan was very shook up with this news......I can imagine, as it seems that Ledger really threw himself into this role.

Just a really sad loss. For all that Brokeback was, it was an amazing performance by Ledger. However he is remembered, one thing for sure, he seems to be a really loved and appreciated mate. Rest in peace young soul.

So very sad, but from what I understood even tho sleeping pills were in the apartment, there is no proof it is the cause of his death the autopsy is not yet been performed. I just can not see him , taking his own life at such a successful time in his life. I can however understand the need to just get a good night sleep and perhaps take a sleeping pill to do so. The Angel of death can come to us at any time so enjoy your lives and do not fret over what you can not change or have.

I heard this earlier this morning. Quite an unpleasant surprise.

He seemed to be the kind of actor who could do well both serious and lighthearted and even comical roles. It's sad when actors like that are lost.
