My old song "Fears" from January 2006 has been entered into a way-back-machine mosh battle at acidplanet.com. Only 34 songs remain in the tournament, and Fears is still in it! (I didn't even know about it until the other day when a mosh-review popped up)

If you have an account (if you don't, go make one hehe) on www.acidplanet.com and you head there and click on Contests > Mosh Voting, the far left will show the link to open up the Jan/Feb 2006 Mosh.

HOW IT WORKS:

Once you open the mosh window, it randomly picks two songs from the remaining mix and pits them against each other (so there's a 1-in-17 chance that my song will queue up each time it reloads). You have to listen to the first song for at least 1 minute. At the one minute mark, it will free up the Play button for the second song. Then you must listen to IT for at least 1 minute. Once that time has passed, the two "Win!" buttons for each song will be freed up and you can pick one.

You can vote as many times as you like, and it's an interesting mix of music! So if you're bored at work or whatever, it's a nifty thing to open up and keep in the background while listening, clicking over to hit play or cast a vote (each time you vote it repicks two more random songs) now and again.

And, naturally, I would be very appreciative if you'd vote for Fears when you hear it (if you deem it worthy, of course).

Yeah the system doesn't seem that random to me. I'll go like 20 in a row not hearing Fears, then I'll hear it like 6 times in a row. S'weird.

Haha, thanks, bias or not I really appreciate the props. But I don't know, there's a couple really nice dance tracks in there that I think will definitely beat me out. I'm just hoping to make top 5 at this point.

Looks like it's over dude and you got 2nd place . Can someone who has already voted confirm this? All I see is the results and it showing Fears at #2 in the Jan/Feb 2006 Mosh on the right hand side.

Incidentally the winner is one that I really liked as well. I did vote for it on the battles I heard it in last night.

Goodness, these mosh battles sure take their sweet time to resolve. The one you were in was in 2006? Gaw! But still, fantastic that you got second place! It's a great song. The people have some good taste.

Yep, it's all over, and I placed second. Alas, no free biscuits for second place in this game, I get nuppin.

I knew that track would win it, though, it's the only track out of the lot that I bookmarked to grab after the mosh was over.

And LOL, no, Firia, they're doing "flashback" moshes right now, that was the Jan/Feb 06.

Now they're doing April '06 flashback. I just checked, and the only song I have released in that month is "Jaded Link". LOL, I won't last the first round with that one, so let's not even bother to check if it's there.

hoy. Jaded Link isn't as good, but still a good listen.

I'm actually kinda hooked listening to this mosh dealie. Some are woth my time, and a handful make me cringe having to decide who wins. Once and just once I had to decide between two great artists, and that kinda sucked... cause they were both awesome! (Different genrés even. That makes it harder to compare.)
