Anyone catch the pilot ep yesterday? :)
It's supposed to air again tonight sometime. Ol' Fox-a-roo, for those who have yet to see a show on death row.

I watched it, mostly on account of it having Summer Glau in it. Didn't seem too bad, but nothing spectacular. The visual effects were well-done and it seemed to flow from the previous Terminator movies (though I have not seen the third one). But, it was no Firefly.

I've never been a huge fan of Glau, other than appreciating her just because she was in Firefly, but she could have disappeared from the show entirely and I wouldn't have personally lost any love for it.

However, I am quite intrigued on how they're going to tell the story, based on the Terminator trilogy, which I think is really well-done in all three films (although I don't like the latest incarnation of John Connor in film three, that actor's kind of a goombah, Claire Danes was good though).

I'd like to see how Lena Headey does as Sarah.

For the series, they are only treating the first two films as part of the storyline canon, pretending the 3rd doesn't exist entirely.

Much like how Superman Returns pretends that superman 3 and 4 never happened.

So far I think the show is pretty damn cool, it has alot of potential I think.

I personally enjoy the concept, but have to wonder how far it can go. Either they stop Skynet from being activated ... or not. If not, then everything proceeds exactly as it did the first time around. If they do stop it .... story over .... so what next?

This is avoiding the whole Predestination vs Paradox Theory involved in time travel theory. The whole reason Time is so carefully dealt with in Science Fiction imo.

Either an Event will happen regardless of what people do (or fail to do)'Predestination'. Or changing an event in the past changes the event in the future that make traveling back possible 'Paradox Theory'.

I've never been a huge fan of Summer Glau either. But she is amazingly a good choice for a terminator. She pulls off the unemotional and not quite right characteristic of a cyborg quite well which is perfect for the role they have cast her in.

I just watched the second episode tonight and it definitely has a good story line going on. I do have to agree that its not the best show ever but it does show some a lot of potential.

Ah, the happy-fun romp of Paradox vs Destiny. Yeah, I can see why they would cut the 3rd film out of the story to make room for the series. Certainly gives them a LOT more storyline room to work with. As "Enterprise" has shown us, you can't make a series where everyone knows how it's going to end and expect it to last more than a season or two.

Of course, it's FOX, so I don't expect it to last more than a month or two, regardless.

Extremely good point. She pulls off the emotional psychopath in Firefly well enough because she can't act very well, so she just makes up facial expressions (although she obviously had some really good tutoring for the Serenity movie, much better acting in that). I can see her reverting to doing that cold Glau-stare permanently and having it work perfectly for a skinny ninja-chick terminator. :P

I am definitely liking the show, I hope Fox keeps it going, seeing as the writers' strike has limited the amount of new content on the air right now, maybe this show will get some notice and Fox wont put a bullet in it.

I haven't seen a moment of this show. However, Cryo I think you hit the nail on the head here. I think the writer's strike is probably going to be the saving grace for this show.

How are they writing new episodes for this show, if all the writers are on strike? Are they previously written epi's? Or are people breaking guild lines? Have wondered that about any of the new shows coming out. lol

This show was previously written and slotted as a mid year replacement.

I started watching the show Sunday, then I had to go play designated driver for my sister's fiance. I thought it was repeated Monday, but it was the second half.

Anyways, I liked what I saw of it, it felt grittier, like the first movie. I thought T2 was kind of sappy, and never bothered seeing T3
