I was thankfully safe from this one cuase my eve is on a different drive to windows...but yeah fairly dodgy.
Also atm I would advise against clone jumping heard a few people have lost implants out of it. One presumes they will get them back through petition but probally better to not go through the hassle.

fails to understand the fuss

I recently had to have a hard-drive replaced due to a failure of the drive's electronics. Replacement of the drive was fairly inexpensive, thus the computer was not "Bricked" and would have cost me even less if I had known how to do the replacement myself

.
Now that is hardware. Software is even easier.
yes the error was major but *lol*

Hate to break it to you but hardware is usually the easy bit. Hardware at its absolute worse has a intermitant fault that is hard to track. Software on the other hand can have such bizarre bugs that only happen under very specific circumstances such as this one for eve. Eve has to be on the same drive as windows. You have to upgrade from the old graphics to the new graphics (as opposed to either not upgrading which anyone with a older computer wouldn't do or downloading a full install with the new graphics).
Mind you I still think there Quality Control should have caught it because I know CCP do a lot of testing on there stuff.

Turns out they never caught it themselves, but during the beta run for that patch there WAS a tester who caught it ahead of time. Unfortunately, said tester posted it on the forums but never logged it in a bug report, so it never reached CCP in time.
It's like someone passing you on the highway doing twice your speed, then you drive by them in the ditch 5 minutes later and wave.
Ah well. EVE is cool, but good lord is that ever the mother of all oversights.

I haven't clone jumped in a long time, but I was thinking you had to remove implants to clone jump anyway.
Anyways, this didn't get me as I never even tried to upgrade to the premium content, just used the Classic Client.

You can't remove implants without destroying them. Clone jumping is not the same as dying. If you want a full explanation go read the eve forums or catch me when I have more time.

Ya, I know what clone jumping is, and I thought you had to remove your implants to do it (in turn destroying them). I don't spend much time in 0.0 sec anymore, so it's just been along time since I clone jumped.

I freaked out because I had gotten the update almost as soon as it was available, and had no idea you werent supposed to reboot, but luckily I actually got the update AFTER the said time, so had no probs on my end, and the new graphics freakin rock btw

They have some fixes I believe for the issue, there are a bunch of topics in the EVE forums regarding it I think.
