The Value of a smile at Christmas

It cost nothing, but creates much.
It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give.
It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts a lifetime.
None are so rich they can get along without it, and none so poor but are richer for it's benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It is the rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and natures best anidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.
And if in the last-minute Rush of Christmas buying some of our sales people should be too tired to give you a smile, may we ask you to leave one of yours?
For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give!

That was printed years ago in a New York sales add....and still holds very true today. So please, think about it while you are out shopping and doing your holiday rushing. :) Happy Holidays....what ever yours happens to be :)

I could not agree with you more on this.

I feel for the sales people when I shop during the holidays.

All people that serve us take so much abuse during the holidays from tired cranky customers, upset that they could not get the item they wanted or there meal came out wrong.

If the store is out of an Item it is not the sales persons fault, if your oder is not cooked properly it is not the waiters fault.

If the person serving you is a bit cranky, smile at them look at the name tag, call them by name and tell them *Thank you Nancy, have a good day*, let them feel that they are appreciated for doing a job that is under paid and hard on there back and feet.

Most of all try and be Patient, and not take it out on them It is not their fault. and if you get one of those nasty sales people & you know the kind, than kill them with kindness be extra pleasent to them and try to help them threw the day.

I want to wish each and every one of you a safe and stress free Holiday Season.

Please take care in your shopping do not spend on trivial stuff,Just for the sake of buying someone a gift, truthfully it is not the size or even the cost of the gift that matters it is that you thought enough to include that person in your list that counts.
1. If you know they enjoy coffee at McDonalds in the morning get them 5 bucks worth of gift certificates from MacDonalds

2. If you Know they ride the subway get them some tokens, or a gas card for those that drive, with the price of gas being so high a ten dollar gas card can be a life saver when the money runs out at the end of a work week

3.Stop already with the stupid gifts like Candy and Fruit Cake that cost more and is not at all good for them, and is not something they themselves would spend there last dollar on....I implore you all to just think, when you are buying this year. Be happy with the choice you make and it does not have to cost a lot to be useful or helpful to the person receiving it.

ABOVE ALL DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN DEBT FOR OTHERS!!!!
