Ok I thought this was a very good beginning to a new show this season. Moonlight (vampires live among us in today's world ) They are not night time predators nor do they leave bodies lying around to be discovered by the police. A cult however murders one of it own leaving behind the body. This brings out a Reporter with a vivid imagination *she was saved by a vampire when she was a child* He stays close protecting her from harm and she feels as if she knows him.... will she remember well Maybe the question is still are there really vampires or there is no such thing as Vampires... They certainly do not need publicity and want this reporter silenced for sure... She is a danger to there existence. You may want to check this one out!!

I saw this last week it was pretty good, actually. The first episode was good, hopefully the series will flourish.

Sounds very similar in principle to the old canceled series Kindred: The Embraced. I'll have to check it out, thanks for heads-up.

A little bit, but, Kindred actually dealt with the clans and politics involved therein, as per the Vampire: The Masquerade Universe.

OMG I love Kindred: The Embraced, its been sooooo long since I seen it. I watched the first episode of this Moonlight and I must say I am pretty intrigued by it, I also find it really weird that it kinda fits with a book I am reading currently, Touch the Dark. Almost like someone read the book and liked the idea lol.

Actually, this seems to be somewhat based/inspired on the old "cult?" classic Forever Knight. (vampire detective, human coroner as romantic interest)
Moonlight has a vampire private investigator with a human (internet) journalist.

I highly recommend Forever Knight (if you manage to find it, it's a older 80's series)

So far Moonlight shows potential, I really think the first ep. could have been spread out over 2 ep's. However despite a tad rushed (characters was introduced a bit too fast) it does set things up all in one single ep, allowing us to hit the ground running from ep2 really.

I suspect that ep1 was the actual pilot, if that is the case then I understand why the used it as is, as the production quality is pretty darn good.

I only wish that the local "prince" was a bit older, he seemed a bit too young and whiney to me, but maybe that is intentional.
The main character is also a tad young for a vampire (compared to Forever Knight at least) but interesting.

I like the vampire myths tweaks, able to walk in sunlight but only for short periods and in great discomfort, should make for less restrictive settings/stories yet still provide "situations".
(in Forever Knight the poor guy started smoking in the sunlight, the "hunger" was a huge focus in that)

We'll see what what they do with this series, but so far...I'm liking it.
