My response/comment to it is the following. (will probably show up a bit later if/when Mr. Scott approves it.)

10 years old...
Somebody please make this kid the next US president, seriously.

This kid could talk rings around any of the upcoming candidates, easily. Heck, this kid would probably be a challenge for me even.

And I really liked his view on the universe,
although I probably would have added the possibility that,
yes the universe is most likely finite, but that it restarts itself. (I.e. the theory that an undetermined number of big bangs have occurred already, that the universe expand and collapse, rinse and repeat)

I would absolutely like to believe that this is true. But two really huge things stood out for me. First, the kid, smart as he seems to be, seems to be lacking either the ability to use spell check or a dictionary. Second, it took me all of about 10 seconds to find Stacey's Cafe using Google, which he claims such proficiency in using. There is a clear connection to the restaurant and Scott Adams right there on the front page. Granted it doesn't answer the question as to whether he owns it. However, another really quick Google search found that information right there in his biography on the Dilbert site.

Sure, maybe this is the case of the absent-minded professor. But I tend to doubt it.

Hm well maybe tho He is very smart he is just to Lazy to look up spelling and finds it, a waist of time and as for the directions I can have an address or even a map, but directions to me are You make a left at the light at the little church on the left after the McDonald's on south street go 3 blocks and turn right go past the nu die bar and h00t MY Restaurant. and hell I am way past 10, I think this was brilliant and if he is 10 what an extraordinary adult he will be. He would Definitely Make a better President than the one we have. I think perhaps he thought maybe the information he received may have been in error. or maybe he just feels that words should be spelled differently(giggle) regardless the article was great.

Yeah, but Jugs, my point is, it is more than easy to find directions once you know where the place is. Much easier than to have Scott Adams provide them to you. What if he never responded? Also, this is an email. Unless he provided a home address, how would Scott Adams be able to provide him directions from his home to this restaurant?

All I'm saying is this. Doing an internet search for directions from point A to point B may or may not be above the level of your average 10 year old. But this kid is being presented as being well above average. So looking up directions is apparently within his skill set. Also, I never heard of Occam's Razor until probably 10 years ago. But again, if he didn't know how to spell it, you would think that a kid who claims he can look everything up on his google taskbar would be able to look up the proper spelling.

Further, I have found another error. In his PS he uses the word "i" instead of "I". Again, common mistake for your average 10-year old, but a glaring error for a "genius." So maybe that looks like I'm being nitpicky. But to me that is just further proof that either Scott Adams is conducting an experiment of sorts (which seems fairly likely) or he has been fooled by a blatant hoax.

Now that I've had my coffee, I want to back-off a bit on something I said earlier. I said that I wanted this to be true. I'm not 100% on that now. While I don't have a doubt in the world that kids this smart exist, if this is true, this is a 10 year old kid! Even if he is that smart, he should be doing kid things. This is the only chance he's ever going to have to be 10 and he's missing it.

Typing a search criteria into Google and having it show results
may not always show the results you want Google to return,
I use Google enough to know that sometimes the most obviously combination of keywords may bring some weird results. (Google trying to be too clever I guess).

As to spelling, he probably use Firefox's spell checker or not.
Besides, myself I have Firefox spell checker always on but I don't always bother to correct everything or look it up, Firefox does not always have all the English words and in those cases marks unknowns as errors too.

I try to remember capital I's myself, but oddly enough Firefox spell checker seems to not mark those, so they are very hard to catch.

If that Kid is real (I hope so, I'd rather not wish a kid to non-existence) but if this is a fictional "smart kid" then my view is still the same as in my initial post

Actually, considering that our life expectancy can be anything from 70-95 something, I seriously hope that kid lives the way he want to live.
If this is how he decided to be as a child more power to him I say.

Myself I wasted the first 15+ years (17%-20%?) of my life not really taking advantage of my skill for technical and computer related areas, so I never ended up getting a degree in computing etc. Which kinda sucks as far as job opportunities goes.

As a kid I was mostly just kidding around (That's where the term comes from I guess!) not doing anything productive or of future worth to myself.
That kid seems to have a 10 year head start on most average people or in this case Americans, definably not a bad thing.

How can you tell that from what he wrote, from his ability to express himself, from he's apparent intelligence? He may of wrote that between doing whatever you think a 10 year old should be doing (throwing a ball, rolling around in the mud, smashing up someone’s car or shooting up some crack).

If not, if finding inner peace and understanding in the world; generally doing what he wants and what he finds fun, then surely he is not wasting anything.

Maybe...maybe... you have a point that I don't know.

But then I don't happen to believe this is a 10 year old kid in the first place so I don't suppose it much matters.
