Greetings from an old friend - Remember SPARTA? Remember Xyrnyx?

Most of you will not, but some of the AO RP veterans/GSP staff will...

Let's see...it has been about four years now since I was around as Xyrnyx. My presence and social involvement became more and more sparse, and then one day I never came back. Between family issues and my job, I simply did not have the time to dedicate to AO.

Without question, it was the RP community and GSP that made Rubi-Ka such a special place, a world in itself. There was always something to do, some activity going on that added depth and dimension to the experience. I'll never forget the days when SPARTA was around and we enjoyed our various cloak and dagger adventures.

I did return for a short time, but so much had changed it was no longer the world I had remembered. A co-worker managed to convince me to try EVE Online last year as a diversion, and I ended up finding it very enteraining. The fact I can train skills offline makes the expense more justifiable. In addition, I find there is a great deal of flexibility in what I can do. There is even a player-based internet radio station called EVE Radio (a far cry from GSP in many ways, but at least one exists).

Nevertheless, my time there has definitely made me miss the strong social environment and player connections I found on Rubi-Ka. In that regard, I created a free account in AO and do log in from time to time as "Telarius". Still, the majority of my time is spent in EVE, and will most likely remain as such.

Nevertheless, knowing that many individuals play multiple MMORPG's, if anyone here has an EVE account, please feel free to send me EVE-mail. My character's name is Telarius V'laar. I am currently forming/re-forming a RP corporation called NeoGenesis Evolution and welcome anyone wanting to join. In addition, I am happy to send 14 day trial invites for EVE to anyone who is interested. This is especially true for the "old timers" that wouldn't mind a change of pace and the opportunity to add a new level of depth to EVE as was done with AO.

Regardless, I will still try to show up on Rubi-Ka every now and then...

SPARTA was indeed an amazing time in roleplaying for several of us. I hold it dear to my heart and still miss it from time to time.

Hey Otori...indeed I remember you, heaven knows I was at most of your DJ parties. I'm a complete carebear, the only time I PVP is when I'm forced into it (i.e. attacked while minding my own business). I spend most of my time just running missions, mining, or manufacturing. It is a great diversion from work. Ten hours of coding pretty much leaves me a zombie.

You probably already are in a corporation, but you are always welcome in mine. I'm semi-wealthy in-game (wish I was in RL), so I can assist as needed in that regard. As it is now, there are only 3 of us (myself and a couple of developers from work), but usually it is just me. Nevertheless, I have no ambitions of becoming an "Uber Corp", just have fun with friends.

As for you Lauri, are you playing WOW most of the time? I gave the trial a shot, but didn't stick with it. I do play Guild Wars every now and then though. I suppose I don't have much of an attention span....

I don't really play anything solidly right now, I jump around as my attention dictates, generally.

I'm will be returning to EVE in the near future though, I think. Trying to put a new rig together, right now.
