There've been myriad battles.
I've stood and fought lost causes.
I've sought to fight the good fight
To try to do what's right.

Sometime the battles just go on.
With no end in sight.
Sometimes when it's all done.
You just can't tell who's right.

But still, I stand.

To aid those who need it.
I've taken many wounds.
I've offered up my lifesblood.
Just to lend a hand.

But now a weary warrior.
Must put the sword to rest.
To seek a silent slumber.
