As anyone who's ever tried to d/l music by searching for "Music (genre) free" there isn't alot of free out there legally and the d/l services seem to think that a annual service charge constitutes free.
News flash Free = No form of payment required.
Well in any case I bumped into an article about a Free service. Unfortunately it seems to be dying before it even goes online. The idea of this place is it's peer to peer but they sell advertising and you get the music for free. Seems fair to me. I'll suffer a bit of on sight advertising so long as they don't tag ads onto the music

Not sure what the status of the music would be once d/l'd from this source. Is it owned, leased or borrowed. Which leaves the question of legality for use in streaming. I can't imagine the music labels giving up on use royalties considering how annal they are in general sales practices.
Of interest to me is that CD sales are down while Internet d/l's aren't filling the gap. Thus people are obviously finding alternatives to paying the megadollars that music costs. Myself I don't much like d/ling music. I like to have the physical cd. I don't want to burn it myself as I don't know how and am getting old enough to not really want to learn how. Why bother the technology will change in a few years anyways. So free legal d/l of music makes sense to me. I find music I like I try it and I go buy the CD. Considering that a single cd purchase eats a gair chunk of my disposable income at 16$ to 24$ a cd I no longer want to buy music on speculation.
Cool album cover. It might be good.
And with that line I date myself.
