Almost time

Boxes are nearly packed and just a few details left to handle before I move. (provided I do move, as I can't shake the sickening feeling that its all going to fall apart). So anyway, I just wanted to let you all know my planned scheduled time away.

My settlement is on Friday, December 1. My internet is going to go off either some time on Friday or possibly sometime on Thursday. The plan is for Friday but I have a sneaking suspicion that since Thursday is the last day of the month, its actually going to happen on Thursday. We'll see.

My cable at the new house is scheduled to be installed on Sunday, December 3. My plan is to have my computer all set and ready to go so I just have to wait for them to work their magic.

So, if all goes well I'll be around Wednesday and potentially Thursday night and then back again on time for The Goodness. :)

Good luck with the move. Remember to pack the toilet paper on top in one of the first boxes you take. Kinda sucks if you forget the TP and need it. Just ask my brother.

Thanks everyone for all your luck and well wishes.

Mivs, altering space was a particularly nice touch.

Nicholas, I would expect that OT will be able to send a copy of the speech to my comm so I can view it when I have everything squared away. I mean I'm sure nothing will happen to corrupt it when my comm is being moved or anything. Sure. It'll be safe.

Move.

Everytime I move it rains,

Moving is a trauma we inflict upon ourselves in hopes of a better future. So with that reality in mind you have to look at all the effort and hassle as an investment in yourself. The key to stress reduction during moving is of course planning.

Make sure both old and new house have.

Toilet paper, cleaning supplies for small messes and some food and drink that don't need to be cooked.

Label your boxes and put them directly into the room that they will eventually be unpacked into.

Don't move anything that your going to replace anyways. Things that your buying a new one of like broken chairs or couches can find a very cozy home at the curb.

LOve ya Valli and I'm glad the stress you had while hunting for the house is over.

Well now I have validation for posting my schedule so early. Earlier today my father called to have the high speed internet turned off (his house, his bill, thus he had to call). He tells them the end of the month. I come home today, no internet. Bastavitches! So I ask him to call back and they turn me back on again. But now I'm thinking I could lose cable at any moment. So just a heads up, if I suddenly disappear, I should still be back again by Sunday. :)

Just remember to plan for the worst : Google Maps directions to Ontario - magazines, newspapers, scissors, paste, a sheet of paper, an envelope, and a Saskatchewan Mountie's name - gas in the car...

that should cover it

Fleeing to Canada.

These days fleeing to Canada is harder than it once was. Used to be that passing the border only required you to show your Bith certificate. Now you need a passport. It's still probably the most relaxed border crossing on the planet but it takes a great deal more effort in the planning stages.

Few+ years back I was visiting a friend in Ohio and after we saw the Dave Mathews Band in Detroit we went over the bridge into Canada showing only drivers license as proof. Now this was before that day with the numbers I doubt need repeating, so maybe it's tougher nowadays.
