you wanna hear soemthing nasty. I come home today and I see my cat on the concrete with his head lowered looking like he was eating something. It was dark so I couldn't exactly see what he was eating so I moved him out the way a bit and there was half a rat. He was comping down on a big filthy rat. I mean he wasn't holding back or anything he was going to town on that thing.

i used to have an outside/inside cat that would kill mice and leave them by the door, almost like it was showing off the fact that it scored a kill. lol damn i miss that cat

Our cat does that. It's meant as a gift for being good caretakers or something.

Mine, unfortunately, tends to just play with hers if she brings it in. Usually she leaves it alive enough that I have to chase it down a few times. LOL

i have a nasty story about my cat too

i was about 13 i guess and i lived with my mom
(quick information with my mom, shes a paranioa schizophrenic, and at that time her house was all screwed up, there was broken glass on the floor, she tore down our back deck with a hatchet, long story short she was not in a fit state of mind)

anyone with a cat tends to leave presents for the family, 9 times out of 10 the present is a rat or a small mammal, but that day he dragged in a bird and the bird was flapping around, blood was going everywhere, and at a closer look, half of the bird was missing. there was feathers and bird guts everywhere, and my mom decided to keep it there.... FOR A FUCKING WEEK!

Actually, animal behaviorologists believe that cats leave their kills for us because the cats think we are not able to provide for ourselves, so they're proving that they can provide for us. This explains why most cats that practice this sort of behavior are females. It's a nurturing instinct to take care of infants that are unable to hunt for themselves. Apparently if you punish them or fail to appreciate what they're trying to do for you, it causes great amounts of stress to your cat.

We got 2 labrador puppies, big suckers, and one of our girl cats (who has had 3 litters) brought kills to the puppies to provide for them. It was touching in a gross kind of way.

The girl cats kill to provide, the guy cats kill for glory. Case and point:

I'm reading a book in our nice little sunroom. I look out the window at a magnificent bird flying 20' off the ground and very close to a tree. As I watched, our guy cat flys out of the tree from at least 25' up the tree, and pounces the bird in mid-air. As the bird falls, the cat realigns so that the bird cushiones his fall. The bird was completely crushed to death, and the cat was fine. The bird was at least three times as big as the cat.

My cat's kinda the same, got up for work and my cat had been outside all night. I open the door to go to my car and there's TWO dead birds, defeathered all over my porch. She doesnt eat them, just smack them around a bit into a coma Maybe i'll get a pic of her :-p She's my baby

The male cat I have now has a new favorite toy. It's a lillte puff ball thing which he usually A) loses under the appliaces and B) will carry around in his mouth mewing loudly till he comes up to me and sets it down. I always tell him "Good job Max" cause he seems to be bringing his 'kill' to me for approval.

My male tabby cat lined some mice up infront of our porch in a line once. Wasn't pretty to see for me, I actually caught a mouse before my other cat could when I was 10 so I could save the poor thing (yes, I'm crazy). But once my dear Twiggy dragged in a colourful bird that looked like it could've been a house pet.. I was on the phone with the Humane Society in hysterics.. guess I won't give my cat hell next time though, my cat> any bird or mouse, even if they are uber cute
edit: do male cats do it to be nurturing aswell? cuz I remember my cat would actually walk me/my mom to a friends house that was around the corner and would be outside.. waiting..to walk us back home. god i wish i could clone him
