This little game is in developement. Will Wright (you guessed it, the SimCity guy) is giving a half hour presentation on it. I was amazed. This game starts out as you playing the part of an amoeba. You fight to survive so that you can evolve. As you evolve, you move up the ole food chain from sea to land. It's very well thought out. You can customize your "evolution" to make all sorts of neat creatures.[/url]

Will and this concept were covered a lot in the Smartbomb book I did the author interview on. The details of the work that went into it are more than impressive. I have to concur: Will is a flat-out genius. This guy has got to have a 200+ IQ, I swear.

I couldn't take my eyes off that demonstration, it was great, especially the funny parts.

I think I agree. This could very well be the "greatest video game ever", if it's really going to allow for that much dynamic content interaction.

Currently just started watching the "full 1 hour" demonstration of it, don't know if what you posted is a clip from this yet or not, but I like the long introduction about the "content of video games" in this one:

Okay yeah it's the same thing, just with the full speeches (and doesn't cut off at the end like the first one).

I am SO getting this game. Freakin' WOW.

And remember, this is from a year ago. Game's can gain a lot more content and upgrades in that time!

I've heard talk that a lot of concepts, the one most evident in my head being the ability to make space fleets and not just a single UFO, will be making its way into the game.

Yah, this game idea was something I don't think I ever would have thought of. Also, it's so complex (for the most part due to its interactivity) because there's SO much content. It seems as if this game will probably have some serious longevity to it simply because there appears to be infinite possible outcomes.

So, yah, I agree with you guys. WW is a brilliant man with brilliant ideas.

Will is also a great presenter (no wonder, he does that alot between games).

Now. hmm.

Oh, never seen the WHOLE presentation, great :D

Btw, he mentions NORTH EUROPEAN demoscene and gamecrackers? know somewhat sort of that kind of guys existed, but never was in contact with it. The odd part, is Will Wright has actually employed same sort of programmers as made Anarchy Online.
Superb microprograms who take no memory, exellent optimisation, etc. Exellent method to learn to do programming, its just an dying style of art.
