I'm off to the Superbowl XL party to mingle, talk, eat, gamble, and drink. Seattles home team is playing the Superbowl for the very first time, and the WHOLE city is energised by this fact.

Fan of football or not, everyone is watching the game. :P Me? I havn't seen a single game this whole season, but I'm not going to miss a first in Seattle history.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
(debauchery!)
:P

Hoooly crap!

Can you belive the BS calls made by the refs? Seahawks shoulda been up by two touchdowns by the end, which, as it turns out, would have won the game. Ugh!

I agree and for the matter I wasn't for either team and I still felt there were horrible calls made throughout the game. Most of which would have led to a Seahawks victory. Probably one of the worst SB games I've seen ever.

Despite the fact I shoulda been on the side of my old coach Holmgren I was really rooting for teh Steelers (though on that one TD Mr Ben clearly did not break the goal line until after he was on the ground and moved the ball) At least you've been to a Superbowl now guys - thats something right

Try telling that to the City of Seattle. ^_^
It was (is!) a bright and sunny day. A smidgin of warmth in the air to boot. And everyones mood? Somber. I tried to make my customer forged smile infectious, and even tried being cute with people. They wern't having it.

All the public of seattle remembers right now was the game where the Seahawks had to fight two teams in the superbowl; the Steelers (whos ASS they kicked ass all over the field), and the Refs. The refs.

I personally belive the Refs had money on the Steelers.

Seattle needs a warm cup of "Get over it". Does Starbucks serve that?

Looks like a touchdown to me. :P The ball was tucked up right against his forearm, and the top picture clearly shows that his forearm - and thus the ball - are over the goal line by a couple inches.

On the holding call, the tackle had a hold of the guy's jersey. If you're an offensive lineman, and you have a fist full of jersey in plain view of the officials, you're going to get called for holding.

And on the interference call, when you give an extended arm push of the defender less than 3 yards from the ref, you can't be suprised when the ref flags you for interference. This was probably the most questionable of the calls, but FFS, it was in the first 5 minutes of the game.

Seattle had every chance to win the game, but they pulled a choke job of Buckner-like proportions. Neither team played like they particularly wanted to win, but Pittsburgh made the big plays, and made them count, and that's why they won the game. Seattle had plenty of opportunities to put this game way out of reach in the first half, and they never did.

When it really counted, in the 2 minute drill at the end of the 1st half, when they could've made it a 4 point game, clock management went into vapor-lock, and they settled for a 50+ yard field goal attempt. A team deserving of the win a) would've made that kick and b) would have been kicking a 35-yarder instead of kicking outside the kicker's range.[/url]

Yes the refs fucked up - but Seattle got stopped more importantly by two missed field goals, a stopped 2 first drives (where they should have scored) and their own pentalties. It was a good game, but even without the refs calls - I don't think Seattle would have won.

I don't remember a game I've watched in the last 5 years of Seahawks mayhem that the ref's actions haven't set off conspiracy bells in my brain. Course, I haven't followed them that much over the years.. you can only take so much pain (*coughsonicscough*) before you go "The hell with this." lmao
