I'm leaving for Boston in about 20 minutes. Not sure if I'll have net access down there or not.

The doctors have said she has 2-3 weeks left in Mom. So we are trying to get her a living donor right now.

Will be in contact with a couple people to pass the word on how the situation is going.

Thank you all for your support during this. You have no idea how much it means to me.

I let Windam know that I made it down safely. Heh.. That was before I discovered Mom had 'net in her room. Message won't be long; have to use touch screen to type. God, the pain.

Anyway...thank you all for your wishes! I'll be letting Windam know how things are going...he'll fire info off to Talidro, Tarryk, & Veldron. They can then relay info to you all.

Well here's the stupidity...

I'm at the hotel...Summerfield Suites...

I can access Gridstream (thank the good lord...) but I can't check my Google Email.

Stupid.

But whatever.

Important thing is...I have a keyboard in front of me right now. Hooray.

Here's the scoop, a little more detailed.

Got to the hospital around 9am. Mom's had some ultrasounds and xrays and what not.

She's going in for a surgery in the morning to adjust her TIPS thingy. Basically a little chinese finger trap for a blood vessel in the liver. That will also give them an opportunity to look at the placement of the TIPS. Which, is vital on whether or not she can have a live donor or must have a cadaver donor.

She's fading by the day, and her swelling is getting worse. A month and a half ago, she was 105 pounds. Now she's 205...mostly from fluid build up. Yuck.

Anyways, I'll keep you all updated as things progress.

Nex, I may be giving you a call here in the ... oh... real near future

The one in Burlington. About 3 streets away from the Lahey Clinic.
