Oh yay!!

I just got a call for a job interview tomorrow!!!

Job is temp to hire, but it pays $7.00 more per hour than my current temp job. Plus, it's "to hire" and my current assignment is not. Plus it's doing something that is in my skill set. Plus, if they hire me, it pays more than twice my current salary. MORE THAN TWICE!!!

Recruiter says to me, "I saw your resume and I thought, 'cha-ching! Perfect!'"

Oh Yay!!! and a big fat AMEN!!

ack, gotta go figure out what I'm going to wear!!

Now if only Vallikat was interviewing for this job. I'd be all set.

Yay, getting a bonus this year at work as well. Though mine is about half what Epi's is, oh well.

Blah within a yay:

Job interview got pushed back until Monday.

Yay within a blah within a yay:

Recruiter says that the hiring manager also thinks I sound perfect for this job.

So why don't they just do away with the interview and skip right to making me an offer?

Possible yay or possible blah:

My manager approached me today to tell me that just because this assignment is ending (at some open ended date, but probably 3rd quarter 2005) I shouldn't feel that there won't be a job for me right there. She says she wishes me luck and success if I should take this other position, but that I shouldn't fear that I'd be left in a lurch if I either don't get it or decide not to take it. I'm not really sure how to take that, all things considered. She says she's not trying to discourage me from doing what I feel is right for me. But it kind of feels like she's trying to discourage me if that means leaving the company. This makes no sense. I'm a temp that they've treated like dirt. What's up with the smiling face and please stay here where it's all warm and cozy routine?

Makes perfect sense, just you can't see it as it's happening to you and you are caught up in it.

You are working for them as a Temp. As such going into it they basically didn't know if you'd be able to do much more than tie your shoes. Instead you ended up being quite a capable employee. Someone like that in a Temp position is the equivalent to having a regular employee who you get to pay less. So understandably (though of course it's not a very nice thing is a good thing on the business side) they'd love to keep you there & in your Temp status as long as possible. I believe there are certain laws or guidelines that probably prohibit them from keeping you in Temp status indefinately so eventually you'd probably get hired on if you stayed with them. But instead you are seeking a permanent position somewhere else. They can always get another Temp once you are gone, but that person might not know how to tie their shoes. :roll:
