*Shakes her head and laughs* Ah.... Stereotypes... Drama geek guys are actually usually some of the most intelligent and well read men out there... Aside from the Science geek guys that is...

I was in Chess Club, Drama, Musical Theatre, Speech, Academic Decathalon, Latin, Film Studies, Literature Club and AFJROTC.... Yes.... I am a geek... Yes... I was entirely too active in school...

I suppose I was a nerd... But I had the most fun in Drama and English... Which I suppose is why I plan on being that weird, entirely too out there, but very fun to work with Drama/English teacher...

Yes... I am going to brave the halls of High School again... But this time I'm going to be TEACHING.... Don't you feel sorry for all those poor students that are going to have to put up with me... *Laughs*

No, I guess you're right. They wouldn't sell anything that hard over the counter anyway

Is that so eh? So what about all the actors you so adore? Think they just woke up one day and said "Ooh, I wanna move to Hollywood!!one!1"? Heh, drama rocks man, and English/History/Old*/German were my absolute favourite classes! Our Danish teacher was an old prune who could find the sexual underlining of orange juice, which got old rather fast, so I never really liked that.

But if you'd rather opt for the whole "illiterate with a rifle" feel, then by all means best of luck. Statistics show we need a lot more of them anyway ^^

* I guess "Ancient History" would be the term you'd use. The Greek empire, mythologi and so on.

Im in Ancient History right now, and I enjoy the class very much.

And if you say that Drama is for guys with squeaky voices...
Hold on while I make up this letter bomb.

I was in my school Nutcracker this year, plan on being in it for the next 3 years too, and I am in the school play, and also plan to be in that for 3 years, and Im taking a drama class.

Arh! Well my bad then! If one man did it that way then we all should! Every drama class must be closed. We will do it the Depp way and all will succeed!
Further more, all deaff people must become composers. Bethoven was deaff, and he could do it. So they obviously can too! Our future looks bright, a world full of magnificant composers and super actors. Come now, let us all drop out of school, because honestly, it's not like we need knowledge anyway. Who needs intelligence, when we can have ignorance! Ignorance is bliss. As long as we are unaware about our own shortcomings, they don't exist! Right?

/sarcasm off

Another case of brits thinking that americans dont get it. Or more precisely, angst ridden brits vs. a 15 year from anywhere. Geez, I guess the only thing I don't get is why the young brits don't understand that the 30ish community of Americans have been through the agnst ridden thing long ago, and mostly thanks to the brits. Angst, and a nonchelant (sp?) attitude is long gone...been there, done that, bought a shirt. Oddy's sense of humor/sarcasm is very well understood in these parts.....IMO, his opinions are laughable most of the time, because he thinks that us dumb Americans ain't gonna get em, but we do get them and write them off again as we do alot of kids opinions, because the "shut up, you aint old enough to know shit about shit" does actually apply. No diss against Oddy in any way, but the folks that are older than you aren't just older, for the sake of being older, we actually do aquire knowledge along the way. I'm throwin down the old geezer card here...because it actually does work....but be nice to the kids, they are all we have.

And http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/elegant/ would be a nice way to start a better rant.

Otori: nonchAlant I'm pretty sure...

Believe me, Oddy doesn't not like you, he just has little respect for your opinions. The two of us are young. We need to work hard to prove to people that our opinions have value and thought out merit. I've been trying for two years, and I till feel like I haven't completely succeeded :D

And Oddy is British.

And everyone knows what they say about the British.

...

*runs*

But really people. We've been way off topic now for, what, 30 posts?

In regards to Otori:

Hehe, easy mate, wasn't assuming you(you as in figuratively speaking, not you in person) didn't understand. There was no Brit vs. Yank in this at all. I simply learned the hard way that on the net, people do not tend to get sarcasm as well. Most do, yes, but all it takes is a single person who doesn't, or refueses to, to make things hostile. I added the /sarcasm off mostly to illustrate the joke, but also because things have gone out of hand earlier when someone thought I was serious or belitteling... (ok, so sarcasm is prolly a lil' belitteling, but it's no more serious than you choose to take it).

As far as the "old geezer" card goes. Yeah I hope so, the world would be a sad place if a 21-year-old semi nerdish forum dweller knew as much as all above him. But does it mean I should shut my trap till I turned 90? Where would that take me? Where would it leave any of us? There's always someone older, as shade is finding out.

And as to that, when oppinions are made out: Gah omg girly girly girly fag! I don't think we need education because this one guy didn't and besides punctuation is for sissies can I have my rifle back now please?
One should really not be surprised when people react to it. Nor when they poke at it. If I say som'n messed up, I'd find it rather dull if no one made fun of it. Why even bother writing anything at all if it wasn't to get a reaction? Can anyone here honestly say they'd bother writing if no one ever disagreed or gave them other oppinions? Why bother if the only options for reply are:

Yes, I agree.............[x] <--:Pressing here will result in a reply
Yes, you are right.....[ ] <--:Pressing here will result in a reply
Absolutely................[ ] <--:Pressing here will result in a reply
I do not agree..........[ ] <--:Pressing here will result in banning

But in regards to Brit vs Yank angst and such. It can never die unless both sides are willing to let it. It's like the racism card, it will never dissapear before both sides are willing to forget and move on. I'm not saying it's easy, but every time I disagree with an American in a fashion that contains any kind of wake up call, I'm flagged as yank basher/hater. No one even mentioned that? It could have been a dane saying that stuff, hell, even my brother, and I'd still have givin them a whack over the head. So erh, who's the one with the angst here mate? (No, this was not an invitation to a mud fight, it'd be pointless and we'd only end up gettin really pissed at each other, which would serve no purpose.)

Just a thought tho'.

How does one have a british voice? I'm mancunien (Manchester) my accent is "working class" slang inspired. So is the entire area. What do you even know of british? Think we all walk about talking Oxford/Shakespreare english with our little fingers stickin out when we drink tea? If any fingers are stickin, it's two completely different ones mate. How is this any different from what I was just accused of doing? I mean appart from the fact that when a yank does it, it's called discussing oppinions, but when europeans do it, it's called yank bashing/griefing/hating...?

Arh bugger, this got out of hand again, it wasn't ment to go here... It was ment as a friendly joke, but a wake up call as well. It seems some things never change. Will we ever get past always suspecting the others are only here to offend us? Tho' I guess it goes for all of us. I did choose to take offense as well didn't I... *sigh*

Johnny Depp may have dropped out of high schoo,l to go into acting, but do you think he never took drama or acting classes?! Bloody unlikely. I gurantee you every Hollywood actor/actress has taken many acting classes. Heck, Steven Seagal has probably taken tons of acting classes and he couldn't act his way out of a paper bag if it was soggy!

I just want to point out an interesting fact here. The classic posh Hugh Grant Oxford english accent is only about 300 years old, before then (and in Shakespeares day) everybody had a dialectic and regional accent, including the queen. So Shakespeare would've sounded more like the Wurzels than Hugh Grant.

Just an interesting thing i found out recently, thought i'd share it.

and they said i'd never be able to use that piece of info, showed them i did, yup.
