Tea, always brewed from loose leaf, and never from that crap in the grocery store.

Favorite Black Teas: Golden Monkey, Black Dragon pearl
Favorite Green Teas: Xi Hu Longjing (Aka Dragonwell), Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearl
Favorite White Tea: Silverneedle

Silverneedle blends well with Golden Monkey, Jasmine Dragon blends well with Black Dragon or Golden Monkey, Longjing blends well with both black and white teas.
Of course, they are also quite good on their own.

Interesting mixology.

I wonder if you can get Gunpowder (Lo Chu Ch'a), its a real kicker of a tea

I've heard of gunpowder tea, and I know there are green and black varieties, but I've never tried them as yet.

As for the interesting mixology, Silverneedle tends to give anything you blend with it a creamy texture/taste, it's rather neat. Black and Green teas also blend well in general, you just have to prepare them right.

For instance, start by steeping Black Dragon for a few minutes with properly hot water, then add Jasmine Dragon or Longjing once the water has cooled somewhat, as green teas are generally supposed to be steeped at a lower temperature (white tea is as well). Steeping green/white tea with the water too hot tends to result in a tea that does not taste right. Green teas in particular tend to get rather bitter if steeped at the wrong temperature.

Okay not going to build a pyramid :D

Yes I had a friend who had what could be called a tea fetish. Her advice was to use 30 second water for black tea's (30 seconds off the boil). and 5 minute water for anything else.

I keep a caddy of Gunpowder (tea) at work for when I don't fancy a coffee. Wholeheartedly agree with Doc Thunder's recommendation here.

Dithyramb - I've never heard of any of the teas you named, so I'm nwo going to go search them out and try them. :)

When you go to get Longjing, make sure you get Xi Hu Longjing, there are many grades of Longjing, Xi Hu is one of the best.

I adore coffee. Cream and sweetner (Equal or Splenda, never Nutrasweet...tastes bitter to me) - not a lot, just enough of both to take the edge off of the bitterness but not enough to wipe it and the coffee taste out. I am a stark raving biatch if I have to get up early in the morning and I don't get coffee after about 2 hours. :flame:

I like tea as well - hot or iced. Used to drinking unsweetened hot green tea served during Thai family get togethers. Helps to settle the stomach in the midst of all that spicy food. I prefer unsweetened iced tea with some lemon. Chai tea is great as well. Other than that, I don't drink it frequently enough to have developed preferences.

Hot cocoa is a viable option, certainly, Cali. As is cider.

Oooh. Its chilly enough where I can make grog. :D

Some people like to drink their mead warm, too, when it's cold.
