I checked it out a little last night. Registered for the forums. I'm gonna keep an eye on it, but the more I think about it, I'm not so sure it's going to suit me.

I'm a lot more about the social scene than I am about the kill. I just can't foresee a Reet's-like club in Conan's world. Even if I get to be a large breasted woman in skimpy clothes, there's only but so much you can do with animal skins.

I'm also not a big fan of the type of role play involved. I'm an independant woman but not of the warrior ilk. I'm not sure how much of a role there would be for a woman in that world outside of warrior princess.

And I know this is a little thing, but as soon as I read a "hail and well met" on the forums, it made me want to run screaming.

Eh. I can foresee a whole lot of potential here and I can foresee this becoming a really great game. But, though I might check it out out of curiosity more than anything, I'm not sure about my long term future in a game of this style.

I do agree with you, Kat, and I desperately hope that Funcom builds some sort of tavern-system into the game so that it also can cater to the more social of us. I will keep an eye out for more info around/after E3, as I'm sure we'll see more screenshots and such then.

More detail... I read this and I think Neverwinter Nights is the best setup for what they are trying to do with the game, which looks very interesting, still even more interested by the game, by it's premise, but we will see.

2: The first 20 levels will be played OFFLINE. As in that you will be connected to the game servers, but you will NOT partake in the storyline until you get online for real. (strange concept, will be interesting to see if they can make it work).

That part actually sounds intriguing. Imagine beginning your first steps in AO without any KS/ODers around to ruin your first feeble steps at killing mobs & gaining xp? Or leveling the first 10 levels without inane noob chatter in the OOC channels? "Is there any way to get rid of a No drop item?" "How do I target the Reet?"

It seems they may support "woice over ip lip synch", so maybe they support in game music streaming too, with sound sources as npc musicians, or something.
