Oh, and just another cool idea if this gets huge.

I personally think something into Ao's atmosphere is better off...and while quake does, UT2k3-2k4 does it very well.
it would require some work with the lawful owner of said games.

Understandable, but with flawed logic. If I expand to, say, 3 games -- I'm now doing 3 times the work (edit-in: if anyone asks me why that would be, I'm just deleting your post, this is NOT going to be easy to orchestrate even with just 1 game), and now we're asking participants to pay 150$ instead of 50 if they want to always be in on it. It's just too much hassle. Better to stick with one game for all beginning chapters of this project. And I think Q3A is it. Also, I will never "ask" anyone to purchase a game. It's something for people who play both AO and Q3A, and a way to integrate the two together, it's not an advertisement deal for either game.Oh, and just another cool idea if this gets huge.

Cool idea, possible in the not-so-near future, unless something related to gambling becomes a liability. We'll see.I personally think something into Ao's atmosphere is better off...and while quake does, UT2k3-2k4 does it very well.
Entirely a matter of opinion, and I do respect that one completely.
However, I tend to see Q3A as what a "virtual reality gladiator arena" would be in the world of Rubi-Ka..it doesn't look much like RK but retains the haphazard chaos and dark cyberpunk features that the average person on Rubi-Ka would likely consider stylish. Plus the fact that it's geared towards lower-end systems, it's more accessible, costs less, has a more stabilized basis for mod-creation (imagine fighting in a Q3A mod designed to look like Jobe!), and still looks really slick. Those points combined are enough for me to nominate it over any other, hehe.it would require some work with the lawful owner of said games.
Exceptionally good point, here. I'm not the least bit concerned about Q3A, since it's used for things like this constantly, and practically endorses such a use. I am, however, concerned with what FC might think about an idea like this. I'm still putting together a sort of roleplayish business model to present to FC, basically laying out the details, what would be allowed, what wouldn't be allowed, and why it would be a neet idea to at least give a couple attempts to while not detracting from the glory of AO itself.
More than anything, I'm concerned with the original idea of "pay creds to enter" and "winner gets creds" part. I'm not sure that allowing credits to factor into it would be a wise idea, but that's what the structured planning is for, after all. It may or may not be implemented at the launch of RKVA.
