Monty python didn't use a real parrot for their sketch. It was a mock up. The Mouse is a real dead mouse. It's not the same thing.

You can bafflegab all you like. It's still offensive to desecrate the dead be they animals or people. You can jump on my use of a figure of speech all you want. It doesn't make it less disgusting.

This just goes to show you how people will see something and be amused by it then go 10,000 miles out of their way to justify themselves once they are made to feel guilty about it.

Sometimes you just have to grow up and admit that something is wrong and that mouse vid was wrong.

I do not believe that mice even have a soul. Period. I don't. Our soul is what elevates us above the level of the animal.

It is not just my opinion but what I firmly believe.

Therefore, I found this video to be funny. Therefore, I did not find it offensive. Therefore, I do not feel guilty in any way for making those statements and I sure as hell do not feel I need to "grow-up" for having made them. But this statement...this one just really takes the cake:

You do not honestly believe that I'm going to suddenly change my mind about this do you? You do not honestly believe that I'm going to say, "Oh you're right and I'm wrong. Animals do have a soul! What have I been thinking all these years??? Thank you ever so for enlightening me! How could I possibly have found that funny?? That poor tortured mouse!!"

Jesus Christ! You really have brass ones you know that? God forbid I should not share your beliefs or sense of humor. I never told you to grow up. I never told you that you were wrong for your belief that the soul stays with the body until decomposition (which, incidently you don't even cop to yourself but simply state "there are religions...").

FFS, Fishi!! Its a dead mouse video! I disagreed! Not just with you, but with several other posters here. No one else felt the need to call my religious beliefs into question over it or turn it into an argument. Sheesh!

Oh and, by the way: Inane - 1. lacking sense, significance, or ideas - Pointing out that the mouse is dead as opposed to alive is a fact and therefore makes perfect sense and is a perfectly significant response to your posting.
