Briefly .. a all grrl band in Russia was arrested for singing and dancing in a major Moscow church. Outrage has spread across the world .. from the US Embassy to Madonna.

This band means nothing to me .. the suppression of this band means EVERYTHING to me. Everyone that loves music should be aware of any and all stories like this.

Many of us take our freedom of speech and artistic expression for granted. This is what can happen when you don't have that freedom. Two years hard labor, though? That seems harsh, like someone was trying to make an example of them. That can backfire with civil disobedience, turning them into "martyrs" for the cause of free speech. Come on, Russia! You can change this!

... not that I expect saying so here will be any more effective than clicking "share", but I hope someone who's actually there is actually doing something.
