Happy Things

Postby Vallikat » Wed Nov 23, 2005 3:23 pm

It's easy to complain at holiday time. I could go on and on. But I had something nice happen to me last night that I wanted to share. I'd like to invite you guys to share your "happy things" as we go through the holiday season.

Last Spring I had a falling out with my best friend. I won't go into the details because they don't matter. But I've missed her terribly and have wanted to call but never did because of pride or, more recently, because of simply not knowing what to say after so much time has passed. Last night, she called me. She did have an "innocent" reason to pick up the phone and she used that reason to make ammends. We talked for a long time and patched things up. It just makes me feel really good. Friendships can and do survive. Sometimes it just takes time and distance from the situation to put things in proper perspective.

So anyway, that was my happy thing. I hope some of you have some other stories to share over the coming weeks. :)

<looks at the slip of paper with what I was thankful for on it that my soon to be 8-year-old niece wrote and put a sticker on> Yeah I call that a happy thing.
