Assuming that you'd welcome non-DJ opinions, I checked them out.

So in my very unproffessional opinion, I like Descention better than Ncision. Ncision just had too much of a "garage band" sound for my tastes. Descention seemed to have a bit more talent. But that's really a tough call to make on 1 song from Ncision and 2 from Descention. I think maybe Descention can use a new drummer though. Not sure if it's his fault or the way it was recorded, but something about the drumming distracted me from both songs on their site.

Okay, I gave both a listen. Neither band floored me, but I thought both had some potential.

I agree with Valli that Descention is far more polished sounding just based on the one song Ncision had up. Both bands need to get samples up with better sound quality. That Ncision song was screaming for some seriously hardcore drumming, and ended up sounding rather bland due to the lack of it.

Again, I didn't dislike either. They just sound like 50 other local screaming metal bands to me. I didn't hear something that really stood out. Then again, that could probably be said of a lot of bands before they mature and find their niche.
