Sadly, 90% of the time people just don't CARE if you're roleplaying or not.
Tags would be neat, but I don't see it solving problems.

I do see it helping others easily locate more RPers though. That's a good thing.

Not sure if a tag would be the way to go myself. I just wonder if it would put some serious RP's at more ridicule and vise versa.

One thing that bugs me out. As a genreal RP'r myself. .......Is the LACK of resprect for RP from the non RP players that just dont *($%^@* get it. I have a character like many of you that is not totally gimped. Granted she isnt totaly uber either. Yet she can hold her own as those of you who know me can testify. But on many occasions I have been called fluff just because I choose to RP more than level.

This game , reality what ever you want to call AO is titled a mmoRPg. I think many need to realize that and respect those who do choose to RP.

There is nothing wrong with a bit of love. But know when to "get a Motel".

Okay, I know I should have let this post die! Sorry, Oddy.

Anyway, this will be short, sweet, and to the point...like me!

I've role-played a lot and try to keep it in /tells and PMs. The only time I don't, when IC, is when I need reactions from the people around me for the sake of the storyline. I don't work alone. I never work alone! Muwahaha. BUT when I'm OOC I let people know I am or that I'm cross-RPing for the sake of enjoying some conversation during GSP parties.

Other than that, although I've kept any 'explicit' things under-wraps in /tell form or team form people have always ridiculed or poked fun at my chars because they're sitting with another person. It's not like I'm 'cyb0ring' 24/7 GEEZUS!

I found that /ignore works most of the time. The funny thing is that those poking fun at me are affiliates or members of Role-Play based organizations. Go figure the irony and hypocracy.

Far be it from me to let a topic die.

I'm in an interesting situation here because of an endeavour that we launched for giggles last month.

A little background. My main, Daewen, was a member of Society of Salvation and is now the president of the People's Republic of Redemption. Any of you who've seen us around know what RP weirdos we are, calling each other Citizen and whatnot. Daewen is a very seriously RP-oriented character and, as is my intention, a virgin on RK. I have no intentions of her getting romantically involved.

But there came a point where a few of us serious types felt like unwinding a little bit, so we created some alts in an org called The Girls Your Mother Warned You About.

Those of you who have seen us around know that we're a wild group and generally try to get laughs for overt naughtiness. Now I have emphasized over and over to the rest of the girls that we aren't about public cybering, and, in fact, to the best of my knowledge, the girls who do tend to take it into private.

Ironically, my character, Legitimate, has been the one to get the most grief from other people for her antics. I know Laerena was offended at us for awhile, although I think you developed a better understanding of what we're about from talking to me and that you know that it is not my intention to ruin anyone else's day. In fact, I've never taken Legs to any rp or classy event. She's just around every now and then to add a little flavor to the usual GSP parties.

Or, at least, that's my hope.

Now, Alexa, I know you know what Legs is capable of as I also know that your ribs might still be hurting from how much you laughed the first night of Legs...career.

Also, anyone else who's bothered to take the time and talk to Legs knows that if you tell me to knock it off, I will and do.

So...where is the line? Legs is a roleplay character who sometimes takes advantage of people--always ones I know--and yells out "EAT IT!" The people that she's done this to have laughed. But then I've had people absolutely hate me and grief me with extra venom for doing this to other people.

I can't expect everyone to talk to me personally if they're uncomfortable with her roleplay. Legs is probably on a few people's ignore list who would never think that the same player who plays Daewen would be capable of such things. Which hurts. Call me emotional, but I don't like to be hated by good people like a lot of you.

So, is Legitimate's roleplay illegitimate?

Small note about one thing mentioned - Tags. They might facilitate matters a bit, but they'd also quite possibly lead to confusion & doom! We don't have the visual tags in AO but other games do & guess how many folks I see running around about their daily business killing mobs & completing quests, etc. with the big ole AFK tag over their head. How many script-kiddies or a$$hats would be firmly placing a big RP on their hats?! I'd wager a few...

Next time hit'em with this and tell'em to piss off.
Sometimes all it takes is one thing to shock the piss out of them to make them stop..or go away.

This has given me an idea I think I'll post into game suggestions.
