Idea for a Yalm contest

Postby Mumon » Wed Jun 02, 2004 9:13 am

I've been thinking for like two seconds. (That's one second more than what I normaly think).

Here's what I thought of. A Yalm flying contest. People using there favorite screen capture program make videos of some sort of yalm flight. Be it tricks that one does while in one's yalm or a group of people flying in formation. It could be the piliot of the yalm recording the flight or it could be many spectators recording the flight and the videos being spliced into one video of the flight.

The point is though to make an interesting yalm flight footage.

What do people think of this contest idea, and what would even be a good prize for the winner? (Yalms are expensive and if one is able to aford a yalm, something tells me that creds aren't that big of a prize for them)

Heh, that would be interesting, watching people tying out tricks... with a yalm might I add. I think it would be very awsome to see a group of pilots fly in a formation of some kind. Very cool idea.

phew. nice idea. but somethign liek this would be a HUGe amount of work.
And i mean not for the organizer, but for the contestants, so i dont know if you ll find much who ll partizipate...

there you ll have better chance to set up a rubi-ka triatlon, cuz there is it the other way around, no work for the participants but much work for the organizers.

Well I took this idea, and twidled it around for a bit.

Yalm Contest that is alot of work for the contestants = BIG prize
BIG prize = The Stiletto
The Stiletto = Alot of work for one person
Alot of work for one person = Team of people to make work easier
Team of people to make work easier = Orginization

So now here is the new question, is there an Orginization simular to the Mockers that provides a service to RK citizens. This service unlike the Mockers would not be go and find items for you, but would be craft items for you. If there is, what's the name of it, so that way once I get my bribes taken care of that will let me back on RK, I can look them up.

If there is not, would anyone be interested in creating an Orginization like this? It could be cald "Rubi-kan Yalm" or something. (Named thought of after seeing that TV show called "American Chopper") Of course the Org's focus wouldn't just be making Yalms, but that would be a good way to point them out as an Engineer's guild.
