Matrix review (NOT a spoiler)

Postby Oddysee » Thu Nov 06, 2003 4:14 pm

Ok, after giving this movie time to settle in, I think I'll give a quick post bout it, so here goes...

This movie is without a doubt one of the hardest pressed movies in recent history! The expectations were only exeeded by the expectations of it's predecessor: Matrix: Reloaded
This gives it the disadvantage of the masses! No matter how good a movie is, and no matter how well it means, it is doomed to fail if the expectations are too high. This movie is no different. I can only advise one thing: See it for yourself first. Judge it later!
That said, I will say that the movie does include a rather large quantity of philosofical small talk, that will annoy some of the more impatient people. This is not necessarilly a bad thing though, but quite a bit of it is only there for the sake of being there. Which leads one to wonder why they even bothered bringing it up, as it has no relevance. On the other hand, some of it is relevant and thus; is needed for the sake of the continuity of it all.

The story is well thought through, if not a little predictable at the end, and one really cant complain on that behalf. The effects, on the other hand, are a matter of taste as; Just as it got bigger and faster in
Matrix: Reloaded it's taken another step up in Matrix: Revolutions.
This doesn't have to be persieved as a bad thing, althougt it can seem a tat over the top at times. If you just keep in mind that Neo has learned to use his power since we first saw him in The Matrix it wont seem so bad, and will generally make sense.

There are also quite a few little elements for one to discover for one self, as many things are left unsaid, and many things are only hinted. Take special note to the ending. See it, think about it, and you will know what I mean. But DON'T post it here when you have. Let everyone discover it for themselves as I've left you to discover it.

That said, enjoy the movie - or swear and curse as they destroyed your dream.
In any case: See it!

Thanks! :P
Not really... it was mainly made to stay neutral... I read some reviews before I went, and they we're either 1oo% for or against, no general info, just "this ruined it all" or "perfect end to it all"... And quite frankly, that's of no use to anyone!
Just thought I'd avoid those mistakes, yet aid those who wanted the info... Glad to hear it worked!

On a side note: Anyone critical enough to not just dismiss it, nor eat it raw no questions asked is encouraged to post their thoughs here.
I'm not saying that the rest of you shouldn't post here, but if you're just gonna say "It was sweet" plz do it in the other Matrix thread. I'd like to keep this to the facts and not fan crazed... Thank you!

Everyone's a critic.
Some people just choose to put it into more words than "It sucks!" or "WOO! RAWK!!!!11!"

lol, very true.. I meant becoming a critic as in one that gets paid to give their views on a movie/book/song/etc...

Like when you see a preview for a movie coming out and they "The New York Times "...two thumbs up!" Like that..
