Pendragon Online

[The following has nothing to do with Anarchy Online]

Have you always wanted to run your own medieval military academy? Perhaps now you can! Green Knight Publishing, publishers of the award-winning King Arthur Pendragon role-playing game, in conjunction with Skotos Tech, are teaming to produce "Pendragon Online".

In Pendragon Online, King Arthur and Queen Guenever are sponsoring Royal Colleges for the education of knights and ladies.

These schools are not the traditional professions of Law, Medicine, or Theology, but schools for nobles:

- War College, for the command of armies in battle and states at war
- College of Arms, for honing prowess in martial skills
- College of Heraldry, for the heraldic and diplomatic arts
- College for Ladies, for courteous arts, manorial economics, industries and nursing
- College of Arts, for fine arts and decorative crafts

Any player wishing to start a school would be allowed. If you think you have what it takes to aid in the design and development of the Royal Colleges please apply for a position on the Pendragon Team, and be sure to mention in your application that you wish to aid in that area.

We are currently looking for people that would be willing to help set up the following:
- Curricula -- gathering web links, reading lists, and writing new articles for students.
- College activities -- regular scheduled classes or events, or special events.
- Advancement -- plans for testing, awards and achievements
- School rules -- how to apply & get accepted, organization, discipline, etc.

Pendragon Online will have many features, and if you want to aid in it’s development head on over to their web site to apply.

Check out what other games Skotos Tech already has up and running by creating a one-month free trial today.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day

Another midieval/fantasy setting game? Exactly what we desperately needed in the MMORPG world. But wait, this one is based on historical legend and lacks wizardry! Woo, this'll get players in like hotcakes.

Or not.

Sorry for the pessimistic appraisal (not sure if you're involved with the project, Mumon), but there's no way I can take that seriously. It's a nice concept as far as the advertised mechanic (run your own academy, etc), but how about some creativity in the industry.

Game Developers so often completely lack the personal creativity to make something NEW, with very few exceptions (all of them scifi genre, go figure).

Well, so you don't like the standard Midevil game. And the fact that it's bassed on Historical fact does nothing for you. Well, I'm sorry to hear that.

All right, well I'm not one to give up hope on someone though. I feel that Skotos has something for everyone.

And I will try to demonstrate...

Grendel's Revenge
This one is a Medievil game, but here is it's twist. You don't play as the heros. It is your goal to be the most evil, and powerful monster in the land... here is a quote from there home page...

You are one of Grendel's children. Troll, kobold, or ettin. Phoenix, scarab, or dragon. Vampire, spirit, or spectre. There are scores of races of Real Peoples upon Uthgol. You are one of these peoples, and you must defend your land from the awful plague that descends upon it.

Defending from a plauge though? That doesn't sound fun... wait that plauge is the plauge of humans.

All right well you want something not medievil... well wait for my next post to see what that is.

All right, so moving away from Medievil, and moving into the far future...

Galactic Emperor: Hegemony

This is a strategy game in witch you try to... well... I feel that there web-page describes it better than my self...

The galaxy is at war!

Now is the time when the ancient technology of the Shining Ones has finally been uncovered. The Overlords of space have begun to mass-produce Pinpoint Drives, allowing them to jump between the stars, faster than light. No longer does the tyranny of relativity rule the universe. A new era has begun.

Twelve Overlords will rise up from among their fellows and they will fire the first shots of this new galactic conflict. Hundreds of ships will pinpoint across the stars, and their battles will be like new suns. In ancient Abode, hidden in the heart of a neutron star, diplomatic alliances will made, and upon them the future of all life will be decided. In the end a great Hegemony will be formed, an interstellar state which rules over its neighbors, and it will be the seed of the Galactic Empire still to come.

But, there are other realities, and other galaxies, and their wars are still to be fought...

Rule the Galaxy... hum sounds like fun. I was up for it once, I took over the whole galaxy and had it in the palm of my hand for a day. Then it was taken from me. Do you have what it take it? Do you have what it takes to hold it for longer?

But what's that? You play against twelve other people at a time? But what if I want to play against 5.9 billion? Well that's just to bad, but Skotos does have a second Space Stratagy game.

Space Federation

I personaly like this one a bit better than Galactic Emperor, and I can do well in it for a few weeks. But those that know me from AO, know that I tend to get bored playing one character for any length of time, so I like to start over all the time, and raise up in the ranks as fast as I can. But this game has many draws for many people. Metalynx you can distroy the galaxy if you want, Tarryk... well you can... what do you do other than GSP? Well, I suppose you could create an aliance and um... throw galatic wide parties? I don't know if you want to do that perhaps Galactic Emperor would be better for you... but any ways...

All right so you don't want the weight of the galaxy on your shoulders? You want something else? Well then just wait for my next post.

All right Tarryk, I'm still tring to find something for you.

All right I heard you say the phrase (ok so I read that you wrote it) MMORPG

Well we all know what the second M stands for Multiplayer

And the O stands for Online

But can anyone remind me what the RPG stands for? Oh wait I remember it stands for Role-Playing Game

So back to the Medievil/Fantasy area of games for a bit, I would like you to check out...

Castle Marrach

And I'm not going to say much about this one other than... I've been playing this one for three years. I've had to cancel many Online Acounts and reactivate them over time, but it is for this game that I always kept my Skotos acount active. (Don't forget to ask how you can get a sword, and don't forget to say you want to kill things to get uber loot.)

All right, next game I have up for show, is the last Medievil game I want to show you, and I'm not going to say much about it, because honestly I just don't get it... (Proof that not all of Skotos's games are for everyone)

The Eternal City

All right one commet about this game though... is the people that play Castle Marrach (CM) for the most part don't play The Eternal City (TEC). We just don't get it. And for the most part the people that play TEC don't play CM... they just don't get us. Of course there are a few people that say they play both CM and TEC... but we look at those people like we look at people that say they root for both MSU and UofM. Tarryk you know what I mean there.

/me shouts, "Give me the next game!"

All right, many of you many not know this but the ~very~ first character I created on AO was an Engineer. So this next game is going out to all you Engineer fans out there...

Droid Arena 2

Don't ask me much about this game though. It's won of the newest games open to the public on Skotos, and I haven't quite learned the controls though. Here's what the web site has to say about it though...

What makes Droid Arena 2 so cool?
1) You build your own virtual robot
2) You teach it what to do in battle
3) You watch it fight your enemies in 3D
4) You spy, research, construct & upgrade your virtual robot

All right so I'm going to stop now.

Skotos has more games that you can play, but honestly I don't know much about those games. But go and check them out for your selves.

So what have you to loose? Go ahead and just try a free month of Skotos. If you don't like any of the games, I'm sorry. But if you do like even one game, then all I have to say is....

You're Welcome.

So here you go. Go create a free trial

(Oh and Tarryk, yes I am on the Pendragon Team.)

WOW...didn't expect that barrage of info.

I think my post came off even more pessimistic than I originally intended, my bad there. However, seems to be a TON of stuff Skotos is working on. I'll be checking out those links soon.
