Clinically Insane...

Postby Oddysee » Sun Aug 31, 2003 1:16 pm

Hmm... I have a rather... "small" problem...
I'm gettin a lil bored with AO, I don't know, it's the genre I guess, I've always been a fantasy fan, and I've always loved the feel of it all...
Well, this is driving my thoughts towards one of the biggest sins in the online gaming world...
Ever Quest!... Again, again, again, again, again, again, again, again,...

And I know I'm just gonne get tired of it... I always do, but I guess I miss the spicific classes, the roles, the genre (and the fact that people know their damn roles in a group and know how to pull... it's NOT that hard)
*starts crying*
But I can't help thinking about it... the roleplaying specter is just SO much bigger... Tho given, no one does it, which really is a shame!...
I dunno... I don't wanna play (Yet I'm installing it as we speak) so I really need some help...

Anyone who's ever played the game, why did you quit?
(this is not a "let's flame EQ" thread, people who haven't played, please, refer from posting things like "EQ blows" and so on, as it doesn't help, and will be ignored...)

Thanks in advance for any help...

The only reason I quit EQ, all 5 times, is the slow advancement and insanely dedicated time required to reach the higher levels in under a decade.

Now granted if I had ever had a regular group to play with - it might not be so bad. However, being the social beast I am, too, I couldn't stand the possibilities of *always* being pulled away to raid or camp uber mobs every time I logged in.
I don't think "Casual" exists in EQ.. that's always been my gripe. Otherwise I like the game fine. lol :P

I tried EQ for a couple of weeks. Boring as hell. Everyone is already a high lvl, the starting areas are deserted. Boring. No influencing combat techniques. Boring.
These are the moments we'll remember for the rest of our restless lives.

I have a pretty good reason why you shouldn't start...actually I've got a few.
No I haven't played EQ, shame on me, you idiot, blah blah blah, I-don't-care...but I do know that you pay money for this game, and for playing it("You also pay money to play AO, fethhead!" yeah yeah I know, and that's why I don't, "But it's not so much money!" well, try laying the money you would have spend on AO aside every month and see how much you get by the end of the year...it'll only buy you a small amout of booze, but who cares)...anyways, I know how much time you will spend on this game, and I know that you've got just as much homework as I do, and I also know that you wouldn't want to go to your exams without knowing shit of what we've done all year. I also know that you will be talking about this game for weeks, and that I'll be the only one around most of the time, you do the maths....
Plain and simpel, don't play that stupid game, you've got Cadians to paint and VTM-scenarios to come up with...
