Due to this every bot in AO cant use those handy popup links/windows.
I just fixed Gridbot.
Now popup links/windows should work again.
(i.e for help and news and info etc commands)
However if you use AORC (i.e you are not onworld)
The new way funcom/ao do these links etc wont work.
(AORC use the old way to do things and is thus incompatible. AORC-AORC works. AO-AO works.
AORC-AO wont work with the popup windows)
Normal tells/text is not affected by the latest changes by Funcom so those are ok.
Because of this. Gridbot have some new commands.
All commands that used to send back a clicable link to popup a window with the info still work like they always used.
But only in AO (or until AORC2 is released by that author)
However if you are using AORC you will get a error in AORC something like a tiny window with the text "Unknown" in it.
If so the alternative commands end with txt i.e
helptxt newstxt scheduletxt etc.
Be warned that you will get a BIG tell in this case
Once AORC2 is released I'll remove this temp txt thing since it wont be needed any longer then...
On another note. Helpbot by Beaker is also fixed to use the new codechanges by Funcom.
And I suspect that windowlinks from Helpbot etc will fail to display in AORC as well.
So lets hope the author of AORC gets done with AORC2 soon
I have no clue how many of the other bots out there use the old way or have been updated.
The old way will work in AORC (you get a link with popup window) but not in AO.
The new way will work in AO but not in AORC.
I.e full incompatibility.
I did ponder supporting both methods. But since the old one isnt really used in AO any more. I found it more hassle than it was worth.
Temp txt commands should do the trick.
Besides it's only those with AORC that is effected now that Gridbot is fixed.
I'd also like to apologise to those trying to use the news, help, schedule etc commands in gridbot and got a link back that didnt do anything lol.
Gridbot now works as normal again onworld (from within AO)
