Well, that sucks.

If it was just plain water, the best thing to do is remove all power as quickly as possible and just let them dry out. Water doesn't ruin electronics, and pure water isn't even a conductor, but water with something ionic dissolved in it allows short circuits that can damage the delicate parts, especially memory and processors. Of course, by the time you get this message, it'll most likely be too late to matter. Oh well. They might work again when they dry out if nothing's seriously fried. If not, good luck with the replacing.

The "weird spot" on the laptop... you mean there's a part of the screen that's not working right? Those panels are real delicate, so that might be permanent, but it could also just be mud from whatever dust was available mixing with a drop of spilled water to make a short circuit. That might go away when it dries out. There's really not much else you can do about it without taking a fairly large risk of making it worse.

Good luck!

Well, layers of sheets of plastic is a pretty good description for the construction of a flat panel screen. Did the water hit the edge of the screen? Probably a corner, right? You might have gotten some water in between the outer protective layer of plastic and the layers with all the tiny little pixels embedded in them. It's not going to just evaporate any time soon if there's no air for it to evaporate into. That water's not going to come out easily, but it's not hurting anything but the visibility. You could try brushing the screen gently with your finger toward the nearest edge a little bit at a time. Very gently, though, so you don't make it worse. Enough to see those typical LCD color distortions should be more than enough, and a clean, soft, lint-free cloth would be best, so you don't smear fingertip oils on the screen to confuse the situation or scratch it. Don't try to push all the water out at once, and it would be better to have the power off, too. Just be patient with it and you can probably at least reduce the problem to something you can live with.
