hello, im lordamadeus from RK2

http://aoforums.futureone.us

this site is a pvm raiders forum for the server: RK2.

it is new, but i think with the right effort, that it can be a nice addition to our server. i was wanting to ask if i can put a live stream of yalls cool service onto my site so my guests can listen to some nice music while they plan raids an such.

i was thinking that yall prolly have what it would take to do this, in some form or another. if yall can holler back at me some time to discuss this, that would be awsome.

what i have in mind is a plugin such as what you see at some other sites that is basically a simple embeded player to catch yalls stream and play it. i think it would be a really cool addition to my site and make folks really want to come back to it, as well as a bit mroe advertisement for yall.

thx a bunch, lordamadeus

im really disappointed that i have not recieved any kind of response to my request. if you go to the site you will see that it is a nice place for us on rk2 to gather and hang out, and having yalls broadcast on our site would make it that much cooler.

will yall please respond to me one way or another. :(

My apologies that no-one has responded yet.

Unfortunately, providing a simple embedded player isn't as easy as it sounds. Since we go through Loudcity for our royalties, all web-based activation of our stream must go through their launcher page. The GSP Player provides for this with it's splash screen technology, and you're certainly welcome to link to it:

... or even put up a button on your page that will pop up our loudcity launcher window:

Either way, thanks so much for your support! I'll be sure to check out your site and browse around a bit. :)

thx a bunch for getting back to me.

is there a way that you can talk to them about getting an embeddable player. even if it had "advertising" for them and gridstream(tastefully ofc).

ive looked all over the place for some type of stream player for my web site, and i have tried to lacth onto yalls feed, but it seems to fail and not connect.

like the address of the stream is an ip:port. would you know of the specific playlist name that winamp knows, but most of these players that i have found, needs the exact file name to lacth to?

i know there is a way to make this work. having that launcher really crimps most of listening to it. :( an embedded player would make it all around better.

ill check back with ya later on.

i do have a shoutcast.com player on the site, but there is no way to change it to taking yalls feed. if i find one that will do it, ill sure let yall know.

unfortunately we are bound by our terms with loudcity to use their launcher page, it is this that allows our stream to be legal with authorities, so we cannot offer a direct connect address as it would be in breach of our contract with loudcity (and also get us into a lot of trouble).

i know it's not what you want to hear, but hopefully this answers your question.
