So what happened after Nyte walked away empty-handed?
Funcom flew him to Oslo, that's what! He arrived in Oslo yesterday and took part in their team party. Evidently they had team competitions and loads of beer. Based on the reports on Twitter of the hangovers this morning I'm assuming a fabulous time was had by all.

It just really pleases me to no end that Funcom recognized him this way. Many of us put in time and money into this project. However, Nyte organized the whole thing, created the website, wrote the press release, sent hundreds of emails, and then took it to a whole other level by personally traveling to London to represent us at the auction. He really deserves this recognition by Funcom and I can bet you dollars to donuts that very few, if any, other game companies would have done so much to show their appreciation. This is a big reason why I am a Funcom Fangirl.
Nyte was able to visit the Fram Museum in Oslo before heading back to the airport for his journey home. The lady working there yesterday was enthralled by his story and sent him home with instructions to contact her and the directors with the rest of it.

We don't know if the flag made it back to Norway in the end. The only lead we had, an American collector who blogged about it a few days before the auction, didn't lead us anywhere. So there is a good chance that we may never know what happened to it. I'd like to think that it made it home to Norway where it belongs.
