Michael Crichton passed away

Postby Talidro » Wed Nov 05, 2008 8:44 pm

I never knew this, but apparently he was battling cancer. The guy that brought us ER on television, and the novels turned movies Jurassic Park, and The Lost World, among other assorted works, has passed away.

Here is one link to an article about this if you'd like to read for yourself.

Holy cow! I love his books. I've read several of them.

Before I was Vallikat, I was known as "Clevergirl". That comes directly from that phrase being uttered in Jurrasic Park.

Such sad news.

That news is some of the saddest I've heard in a while. I love his books and have an appreciation for his shows and movies. He was a great creative mind and he will be missed.

Yes, missed indeed. While I didnt appreciate ER like many did, I read too much and apprecaited his writing.

Not surprising it was low key on the cancer battle. He's not in the same league of TV ratings bait for ET etc. They like their eye candy celebs too much.

Prom.

I don't think I can recall a time when I've read his books and NOT thought to myself. "Wow this would make another great movie or show!" He's definitely given so much not just to the literary community but to the overall population, probably many without even knowing it.
He will most certainly be missed!
